Chapter 93 I Know Everything
Hannah and Leo were just about to head out to pick Noah up from preschool when they saw Grayson walk in, looking totally defeated.
Grayson acted like they weren’t even there. He just slumped onto the couch and stared up at the ceiling.
Both Hannah and Leo were taken aback.
Leo thought to himself, ‘I left work early, and now my son is home early too.’
Hannah walked over and gave him a light kick. “What’s with you looking so miserable?”
Grayson said, “Grandma, I just can’t forgive myself.”
Hannah paused, surprised. “What did you do?”
Grayson said, “Grandma, Eloise only broke up with me because she was threatened. Do you remember what happened at the Ucrevine branch? The project I was working on went south.”
Both Hannah and Leo remembered that incident.
Grayson continued, “The project only went wrong because the vice president, Phillip’s daughter, sabotaged it. “After everything blew up, Kaylin threatened Eloise. She said if Eloise didn’t break up with me, I’d be the one taking the fall. Eloise had no choice but to go along with it.”
Grayson said, “Grandma, I’m such a piece of crap! If I hadn’t hidden who I really was, Eloise never would’ve been threatened, and we wouldn’t have broken up.
“It’s all my fault. All these years, I blamed Eloise and thought she was just some gold-digger. I’m such a terrible person! Grandma, I feel miserable…”
Grayson felt like he couldn’t bring himself to face Eloise right now.
Hannah had always suspected there was some misunderstanding. Eloise would never do something like that. She glanced down at Grayson, who looked like he was drowning in guilt, and just couldn’t stay mad at him. She said, “Why are you telling me you feel guilty? Go talk to Eloise and beg her for forgiveness. Whatever it takes, you have to win her back!”
Hannah couldn’t help but scold him again. “Don’t let your mom mess with your head. There are still lots of good women in the world.
“From now on, be real with Eloise. If you open up to her, she’ll open up to you. Alright, think about it. I need to go pick up Noah.”
Grayson glanced at his watch. “Doesn’t Noah get out at four? It’s only two. Isn’t it a bit early to head out?” “Dad, aren’t you supposed to be at work?” Grayson asked Leo.
Leo, who hadn’t said a word, was holding a toy plane. “If you’re skipping work, why should I bother?”
Grayson just stared, lost for words.
Hannah said, “Noah doesn’t really like preschool. We’re going early to talk to his teacher and pick him up early.” Grayson sighed, feeling helpless. “You guys are spoiling him. Be careful, or he’ll get spoiled.”
Leo said, “Noah’s smart. He understands everything. He won’t get spoiled.”
Hannah tugged at him. “Don’t bother talking to him, let’s go.”
Grayson just stared, lost for words.
He spent some time alone at Pierce Manor before driving to the office.
There was a meeting waiting for him later that afternoon.
Eloise got a call from Hannah, who told her they’d already picked Noah up and were taking him out for dinner.

Since she didn’t have to cook, Eloise just made herself a bowl of instant noodles when she got home from work.
She hadn’t had instant noodles in ages, and honestly, they tasted pretty good.
Without Noah to look after, Eloise felt a lot more relaxed. She got a few things done, took a shower, then flopped onto the couch to binge-watch her favorite show.
There was a knock at the door.
Someone was knocking.
She thought it was Noah coming home, so she went to answer it.
But instead, Grayson was standing there, holding a box in his arms.
Grayson hesitated, looking at her for a moment before asking, “Can I come in?”
Eloise just stared at him, not saying a word.
‘Has he ever bothered to ask before? He just waltzes in like he owns the place,’ she thought. ‘Seriously, what’s up with him tonight?’
She just turned around, plopped herself back on the couch, sat cross-legged, and kept binge-watching her show.
Grayson hesitated for a moment, walked in, closed the door behind him, and swapped his shoes.
Eloise kept watching her show, but she could hear someone messing around nearby.
She looked over and saw Grayson unpacking the box, pulling out a robot vacuum.
With a clatter, Grayson chucked the packaging toward the doorway.
Eloise noticed him closing the door and walking over to her.
Her heart started pounding out of nowhere.
She had no idea what was happening on TV anymore.
Grayson sat down right next to her, so close their clothes touched.
Eloise edged away from him.
But Grayson just scooted right up next to her, practically glued to her side.
Eloise slid toward the other end of the couch, but Grayson kept following, sticking close no matter where she
went.
She ended up all the way at the edge of the couch, with nowhere left to escape.
She shot Grayson a look and said, “Stop crowding me.”
Grayson kept his eyes on the TV and didn’t say anything.
After a while, Eloise glanced over and saw he was still zoned out, staring at the screen.
“You like this show?” she asked.
On TV, a super popular immortal cultivation drama was playing.
“What?” Grayson turned to look at her, a little confused.
He turned to look at her, his eyes a bit lost.
Eloise pursed her lips.
‘He’s really focused on this show, she thought. ‘He didn’t hear a thing I said.’
Eloise didn’t bother repeating herself. She got up to leave, feeling uncomfortable with how close Grayson was crowding her.
But as soon as Eloise stood up, Grayson’s hand grabbed her and pulled her right onto his lap.
She turned and locked eyes with Grayson.

His gaze was intense, so deep it was impossible to read him, and there was something else in his eyes she couldn’t quite place.
She quickly looked away. “Let me go,” Eloise said.
Suddenly, Grayson grabbed her hand and used it to slap his own face.
“Go ahead, Eloise. Hit me,” he said.
Eloise was speechless.
She was totally baffled by what Grayson was doing.
Eloise tried to yank her hand back. “What are you doing?”
Then, out of nowhere, Grayson pressed his face against her chest and mumbled, “I know everything now. I’m sorry.”
He’d been wrong about Eloise for so long.
Eloise slowly looked down at him.
Neither of them said a word after that.
Eloise’s hand hovered in the air. She closed her eyes, fighting back the wave of pain that threatened to
