He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 122

Lawrence jerked back just in time, the car whizzing past him so close he could feel the rush of air. It screeched to a stop, coming to a halt about fifteen feet away.

A moment later, the passenger door swung open. A deep, familiar voice called out from inside, “Teresa, get in.”

Theresia snapped back to reality at the sound of that voice. She didn’t hesitate. She walked straight to the car, climbed in, and pulled the door shut behind her. The car took off in a blur, leaving everyone else standing there, stunned.

When the car disappeared, the tension broke. Everyone let out a collective breath they’d been holding. If Lawrence hadn’t jumped out of the way in time, he’d be nothing but a memory.

Aaron rushed over, his face still pale. “Lawrence, are you okay?”

Lawrence’s fists were clenched so tight his knuckles made a popping sound. His whole face was twisted with anger, the kind that made people step back without thinking. “Find out who owns that car.”

Aaron nodded quickly. “Right away, Lawrence. I’ll get on it.”

Inside the car, Garry drove in silence. Theresia wanted to ask him what just happened, but the words stuck in her throat. After a few seconds, she gave up and just stared out the window.

The silence hung between them until they stopped at a red light. Garry turned to look at her, his gaze dark and unreadable. “Don’t you have anything you want to ask me?”

Theresia glanced back at him. His eyes were almost black, sharp and intense, and the line of his jaw was so defined it looked like it was cut from stone. He had the kind of presence that made everyone else fade into the background, like he was always in control no matter what.

She pressed her lips together and finally spoke, her voice soft. “I didn’t think someone like you could lose control.”

Garry’s voice was quiet, almost teasing. “Someone like me?”

She nodded. “Yeah. The type who always has a plan, who never lets their emotions show.”

Garry smiled, just a little, and pressed the gas. “You’ll find out sooner or later, Teresa.”

She knew he wouldn’t say more, but that was fine. As long as they wanted the same thing, she was happy to have him as an ally. Having someone this powerful on her side felt like winning the lottery.

After sealing the Kingsport deal, the entire company went wild with celebration.

Everyone had been working so hard for so long, and now it was time to let loose. Theresia told everyone to enjoy themselves, no need to hold back tonight.

The party got rowdy. People forgot about work and just had fun.

Lewis stumbled over, grinning, a drink in his hand and clearly wasted. “Teresa, that guy who picked you up tonight—he’s your new guy, right? Damn, he’s something else. Almost sent Lawrence straight to heaven. Was he jealous or what?”
