He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 143

Patti had been about to leave with Felton earlier, but just as they stepped out of the auction hall, she caught sight of Lawrence. She quickly made an excuse to Felton and turned right back.

She hung back, quietly trailing behind Lawrence until the auction was over. When Theresia hurled the jewelry box at him, Patti knew that was her moment. She hurried forward, her face full of worry.

"Lawrence, you're bleeding. There's so much blood. Let me take you to the hospital," she said, reaching for his arm.

Lawrence ignored her completely. He barely seemed to notice the blood dripping down his forehead. His eyes were locked on Theresia, his whole world narrowed to just her.

He knelt to pick up the Heart of the Ocean from where it had landed on the floor. His voice was soft, almost pleading. "If you don't like it, that's fine. Just tell me what you do like, Theresia. Whatever it is, I'll find it for you."

Theresia let out a short laugh. Her eyes were cold, her voice even colder. "Anything that's touched by you, I want nothing to do with. Even breathing the same air as you makes me feel sick."

Farris stepped in, his tone sharp and mocking. "Wow, look at you. A little late to grow a conscience, don't you think? What makes you think Theresia would ever forgive you just because you came crawling back?"

He rolled his eyes at Lawrence and flashed him a middle finger.

Lawrence's patience snapped. All the restraint he’d been holding onto finally cracked. His eyes went dark, his fist clenched, and he swung at Farris.

Before he could even get close, Theresia’s hand shot out, slapping Lawrence hard across the face.

Lawrence froze, stunned. His cheek stung and he stared at her in disbelief.

Farris nearly doubled over with laughter. He darted behind Theresia, playing up the drama. "Theresia, you scared me. This guy is actually terrifying."

He hooked his arm through Theresia's and strutted off with her, his chin held high like he owned the place.

Lawrence just stood there, eyes glued to Theresia’s back as she walked away. He didn’t move even after she disappeared from sight.

Patti watched him, jealousy burning in her chest. Theresia had humiliated him, and he still looked after her like she was the only one in the world. Not a trace of anger, just this helpless, pathetic longing.

Was he really that obsessed with her now?

Probably not. Men always wanted what they couldn’t have. When Theresia loved him, he didn’t care. Now that she was over him, suddenly he was desperate to win her back. What a joke.

Patti swallowed her bitterness, putting on her most caring smile. "Lawrence, we need to take care of that cut. Let me take you to the hospital."
