He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 146

Jared let out a scream as Theresia twisted his finger until it broke, the crack sharp and clear. In the same breath, she smashed a bottle on the table and pressed a jagged piece of glass right up to his neck.

That sobered Jared up in an instant.

He stared at her, eyes wide and stunned. “You…”

Theresia’s voice was icy and steady. “Don’t move, Jared. I can’t promise my hand won’t slip.”

Jared froze. The glass had already nicked his skin, a thin line of blood starting to form.

Theresia glanced over at Helena, who was still out cold. “What did you make her take?”

Jared’s face went pale. “It was just a little ether, that’s all…”

Relief washed over Theresia. At least it wasn’t anything worse. Just then, her phone started ringing.

She kept the glass pressed to Jared’s neck, nodding for someone nearby to answer the call for her.

It was Helena’s driver, letting her know he was waiting outside the club.

Theresia picked out two women from the group and told them to get Helena to the car. She didn’t let up her hold on Jared until she got a message confirming Helena was safe.

Jared was shaking, terrified Theresia might actually kill him.

He tried to keep his voice steady. “Theresia, can you let me go now?”

She tilted her head, her expression cool and a little amused. “Getting nervous already?”

Obviously he was nervous. Who wouldn’t be?

What was this? The fierce woman from before was gone, replaced by someone who looked terrified and helpless. For a split second, Jared was confused.

Then the door burst open. Before he could react, someone grabbed him by the collar and yanked him backward.

Theresia jumped off the sofa, running straight behind a police officer. She quickly mussed her hair, making herself look even more disheveled.

Handcuffs snapped on Jared’s wrists. He stared down at them, completely lost. “Why are you arresting me? What did I do?”

Theresia was sobbing, her whole body shaking. “Officer, please, he tried to hurt me. You have to help me.”

The lead cop flashed his badge, voice sharp. “You used violence to force yourself on a woman. Do you really not know what you’ve done?”

Jared turned, staring at Theresia, realization finally dawning in his eyes.
