He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 149

Theresia’s bold, reckless act threw Owen off for a moment, and he wasn’t sure what to do next.

Mike leaned over and whispered, “Garry’s been shot. There’s no way he has the strength for this. Plus, there’s no blood smell in the car. And look at that woman. She doesn’t seem like she’s bluffing. If we waste time with her and Garry gets away, it’s not worth it.”

Owen had to admit, Mike made sense. But he still wanted to see the man’s face for himself. He couldn’t risk letting the real Garry slip away.

He steeled himself and reached for the car door, ready to pull it open.

Right then, a bunch of furious men stormed out of the Onyx Club, shouting as they came.

“Are you the ones who smashed our cars? You looking to die tonight?”

The car alarms had brought out their owners, and anyone who partied at the Onyx Club had serious money and connections. These were not people you wanted to cross.

Seeing the situation turn, Owen didn’t dare stick around. He signaled his men, and they all bolted.

The car owners weren’t about to let them off easy. One of them yelled, “You think you can just wreck my car and run? I’ll show you!” He jumped into his own ride, the others piling in to give chase.

Inside the car, things finally quieted down.

Theresia let out a long, shaky breath. She watched until the men disappeared, then finally turned away. She glanced at Garry, and their eyes met for a split second. The adrenaline faded, and suddenly she became hyper-aware of the tension in the small space between them… and the very obvious reaction he was having.

Suddenly, she remembered his wound. Just under his left ribs. She looked down in a panic.

She’d given him something for the bleeding when they first got in, but the blood still seeped through the paper napkins, turning them red. His lips were nearly white.

Worry surged in her chest. “Garry, you can’t go to a hospital right now, but your injury…”

Garry slumped back, exhausted, and looked at her with tired dark eyes. Something unspoken passed between them.

He said quietly, “Take me to Kaston. Warren will be there.”
