He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 152

Warren came out of the room holding the first aid kit. “Teresa, Garry’s asleep now. He should be fine. It’s getting late. Why don’t you just stay over tonight? There are plenty of rooms.”

Theresia got up. “Thanks, but I’ll head home. I drove here, so it’s no trouble. Take care of him, alright? I’ll get going.”

Seeing she was serious about leaving, Warren hurried after her. “Teresa, come on, it’s so late. Please don’t go. If Garry finds out I let you drive home alone at this hour, he’s never going to let me hear the end of it.”

Theresia laughed softly, not even slowing down. “Relax. In his state, there’s nothing he can do to you anyway. I’m going.”

“Hey, Teresa, you’re really leaving…” Warren called out, but she was already gone. He finally shut the door, shrugged, and muttered to himself, “Garry’s already a handful, and now there’s someone even harder to handle. Why is my life always like this?”

By the time Theresia got home, it was already late. She pushed open the door and saw the warm, yellow light spilling over Naomi, who was pacing in the living room, looking worried and restless.

The door closing made Naomi freeze. She turned, and relief was clear on her face. “Thank goodness you’re home.”

It was almost four in the morning. Had Naomi really stayed up all this time? Even young people can’t handle nights like this, let alone someone her age.

Theresia felt a wave of guilt. She’d been so caught up helping out, she’d totally forgotten to call.

She slipped off her shoes and stepped inside. “One of my friends had something urgent come up, so I went to help. Things got busy and I forgot to tell you. It won’t happen again.”

Naomi hurried to explain. “Theresia, I’m not mad at you. I was just worried. You were out so late, I was scared something might have happened. What if you’d run into someone dangerous?”

Naomi’s face broke into a smile too. “Good night.”

Maybe it was everything on her mind, but Theresia woke up just after six and couldn’t fall back asleep. Naomi’s room was still quiet, so Theresia tiptoed to the kitchen and made breakfast, setting aside a plate for Naomi too.

She ate quickly, changed into something comfortable, and slipped out the door.

Theresia knew exactly where she was heading. She caught a cab straight to Helena’s place.

When she arrived at the Dean family house, Helena had just woken up. Theresia stepped inside, and right then, Helena came charging out of the kitchen with a huge knife in her hand.
