Theresia turned around and locked eyes with Patti, who looked absolutely furious.
Patti marched right up to her, finger shaking as she pointed. “Theresia, are you even human? It’s bad enough you’ve come after us, but Eric is your real dad. How could you team up with outsiders to ruin him? Do you want to destroy him?”
Theresia let out a cold laugh, her eyes full of mockery. “What else was I supposed to do? Help him succeed? Please.”
“You’re crazy,” Patti spat. “What good does it do you to bring down the Baker family? Don’t forget, you’re one of us too.” Patti was shaking with anger, her face dark with rage.
First, Theresia had gotten Leila hospitalized. Leila still wasn’t back to normal. Then Jared ended up behind bars. Now even Eric was caught in the mess.
Theresia just shook her head. “No, Patti. The Baker family’s blood is rotten. I’m not one of you. If you don’t have anything else to say, you should go. I’m trying to have dinner with my friends. Don’t ruin it.”
Her mood had already soured just from Patti’s presence, and Theresia couldn’t help but frown.
But Patti couldn’t let it go. When Theresia turned away, Patti grabbed her arm. “Dad got taken away for questioning, you know that?” Patti’s voice was loud and raw.
Theresia pulled her arm free, the hint of a smirk on her lips. “Yeah, I know. I’m the one who called the cops.”
She’d done it right after leaving the Baker house, sitting in her car. Just trashing his reputation wasn’t enough. Eric had forced himself on Naomi. He deserved to pay for that, didn’t he? Theresia didn’t want Naomi dragged into it again, so she’d found another way to make Eric answer for what he’d done.
Patti stared at her in shock. “It was you?”
Suddenly, someone shoved Theresia aside with so much force that she nearly lost her balance. When she looked up, she saw it was Felton.
Felton hurried to help Patti up, worry written all over his face. “Patti, are you okay?”
Patti couldn’t even open her eyes. She whimpered, “Felton, my eyes… they hurt so much.”
Felton shot Theresia a look sharp enough to cut. “Theresia, you really have lost it. You know Patti’s had problems with her eyes since she was a kid, and you still shoved her face into all that oil.”
Theresia glanced at Patti, then stepped closer, looking down at her. “Those are my eyes in her head. I’ll do whatever I want with them.”
