He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 164

Felton actually looked a little guilty when she said that. After all, it was true—the corneas Patti received had belonged to Theresia.

But Felton still didn’t think Patti owed her anything. He lifted his chin, refusing to back down. “You took eighteen years of Patti’s life. Isn’t that what you owe her? And at the time, Patti was really sick. She’s an artist, she couldn’t lose her sight. But you? You had nothing going for you. So what if you couldn’t see? Honestly, you ended up lucky. Marrying Lawrence is something half the women in this city dream about. Theresia, what more do you want?”

Theresia thought she’d grown numb to pain after everything that had happened. But hearing Felton say all that, so casually, still made her heart ache.

She clenched her fist and took a few seconds to steady herself. Her eyes stayed cold, but a crooked smile tugged at her lips. “I get it. People like you really have their own way of looking at things. Thanks, Felton. You’ve shown me a lot today.”

Felton scoffed, “No need to get all sarcastic. We don’t owe you anything.”

Theresia took a slow breath, holding it in until Felton left with Patti. Only then did she finally let it out.

She dragged herself home, feeling completely drained. After a shower, she flopped onto her bed, clicked off the light, and just stared at the ceiling.

So much had happened these last few days, she hadn’t even had time to sort it all out.

Now Eric was being investigated. With all the evidence against him, there was no way he’d avoid prison this time.

Suddenly, she remembered something else about Eric. She grabbed her phone and found a video she’d shot earlier. Watching it gave her a new idea, and for the first time in days, she felt a tiny spark of hope.

It was late and quiet, and she was just about to set her phone aside when a message popped up.

Did you put Eric in jail?

It was from Garry. Theresia sat up, gripping her phone, and started typing.

No, she had to stop thinking like this.

Theresia shut her eyes and tried to sleep, but even her dreams were full of Garry. Worst of all, they spent the entire night in bed together, working up a sweat.

She wanted to hide from herself.

Pulling the covers over her head, she tried to calm down, but then she heard Naomi unlock the front door. “Can I help you? Who are you looking for?”

A woman in expensive clothes looked Naomi up and down, her face full of contempt. “So you’re Theresia’s mother? The one who spent ten years in prison?”

Theresia’s eyes flew open. She threw off the blanket and stormed out of her room.
