He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 166

Theresia stared in disbelief as Naomi suddenly rushed over, arms spread wide like she was shielding her from danger. It was so unexpected that Theresia just stood there, frozen.

Sandra’s face turned red with fury the moment Naomi spoke. Apologizing to Theresia had already been a blow to her pride. Now, to be insulted by someone who’d just gotten out of prison? That was more than she could take. Sandra’s hand shot up, ready to slap Naomi.

Before she could get close, Theresia caught her wrist in a tight grip.

“Sandra,” Theresia’s voice was low and steady, “this is my house.”

She pushed Sandra away, not bothering to hide her anger.

Sandra, teetering on ridiculously tall heels, lost her balance and fell hard to the floor. Her dignity was in pieces as she scrambled to her feet.

“Theresia, you actually put your hands on me? Don’t forget, I can make sure Jared never talks to you again,” she snapped.

Theresia glared at her, a sarcastic smile curling on her lips. “So that’s where Jared gets his ego. Sandra, do you really think your son is some kind of prize money? Why would I still pine for him? I’m not that desperate. Go ahead, make sure your precious son ignores me forever. I’d really appreciate it.”

What was she talking about? Not in love with Jared? That was impossible. Jared was incredible. If it hadn’t been for that accident, he never would’ve gotten rid of her. How could she not love him?

Sandra shot her a venomous glare. “Theresia, keep being stubborn and you can forget about ever stepping foot in my house again.”

Theresia actually burst out laughing. How had she never noticed before just how clueless Sandra was?

She’d had enough. Theresia marched over, grabbed Sandra’s arm, and dragged her toward the door.

Sandra struggled, “Theresia, what do you think you’re doing?”

Theresia didn’t answer. She just hauled Sandra out and let go. “Taking out the trash.”

With that, she closed the door, shutting out the drama.

A cold look flickered in Theresia’s eyes as she frowned.

She let out a slow breath, then placed her hand gently on Naomi’s shoulder. “Alright. As long as you’re okay. Go get ready. I’ll take you out for breakfast.”

Naomi looked up, surprised. “Really?”

Theresia actually smiled, her eyes softening. “There’s a new breakfast spot nearby. I want you to try it.”

Naomi gave her a shy, genuine smile, the kind that made her look years younger.

Theresia ended up ordering way too much food. Naomi kept saying it was too much, that they’d never finish it, but Theresia just laughed and kept ordering. Worst case, they could always pack up the leftovers.

After breakfast, they went their separate ways. Naomi headed home, and Theresia caught a ride to Kaston.
