He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 170

Monday morning was bright and cloudless, the kind of day that made everything feel lighter. Theresia had her car parked out front. She lounged in the driver's seat, one hand resting on the wheel, the other scrolling through the morning’s top gossip on her phone. That little smirk never left her lips.

After a few minutes, she slipped her phone into her bag and glanced at the woman sitting beside her. “Mamie, you can head up now.”

Mamie nodded, pushed open the door, and got out.

Inside the hospital, Felton looked like he was barely hanging on. He was running between Leila’s room, trying to smooth things over for Eric, and now, because Patti had decided to stir up trouble with Theresia, he had to look after her too. Patti had landed herself right in the hospital, and now Felton was stretched thinner than ever.

In just a few days, he looked like he’d lost weight. He was pale and drawn, completely exhausted.

Leila slipped into Patti’s room to comfort her. “Patti, don’t worry. Mom’s going to do everything she can to save your sight.”

But Patti was in no mood to listen. She was on edge, and the idea that she could go blind at any moment made her want to scream.

She shoved Leila away hard.

Leila hadn’t fully recovered herself, and she staggered back. Luckily, Felton caught her before she could fall.

He shot Patti a frustrated look. “Patti, what are you doing? How could you push Mom? Are you out of your mind?”

Patti just snapped. “Have you listened to a word she’s said? How can she promise anything? I’m the one going blind, not you! None of you have any idea what this feels like!”

Suddenly, her eyes lit up. “Mom, if I could take Theresia’s corneas once, I can do it again. That’s it. I’ll find Lawrence. He cares about me. He’ll help, I know he will.”

She started to rush out, determination in every step.

Felton quickly moved to block her way. “Patti, enough. Lawrence isn’t going to help you again. He doesn’t…”

Before he could finish, a gorgeous young woman stepped into the room.

Mamie looked around, then fixed her gaze on Leila, her tone dripping with arrogance. “You must be Leila. Just as old and ugly as I pictured.”
