He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 179

Lawrence hadn’t seen that coming. He never would have imagined Garry, of all people, actually had someone he loved. Who was the poor woman stuck with him?

He gave a half-hearted smile. “Sure.”

...

Hanson called for a driver. He sat up front while Theresia and Helena took the back seat. Helena was out like a light the moment she slid in, her head resting on Theresia’s shoulder. Theresia, meanwhile, stayed busy texting Garry the whole ride.

She checked in about his injury, feeling much better when he told her it was nothing serious. He also gave her some good news. The person she’d asked him to find had turned up, and apparently, she matched all of Theresia’s requirements.

The happiness bubbling up inside her was impossible to hide. She caught herself smiling at her phone.

Theresia: Garry, thank you.

Garry: Just returning the favor, Teresa. No need to thank me.

She set her phone aside, feeling relaxed for the first time all day. Just a few seconds later, it buzzed again.

Another message from Garry: By the way, from what I’ve seen, Lawrence isn’t as good-looking as me, doesn’t have my build, and he probably isn’t as rich as I am either.

It took Theresia a second to realize what he meant. Garry was clearly referring to the conversation they’d had a couple of days ago, when she’d listed the qualities she liked in a man.

He actually remembered that?

She couldn’t help but laugh and replied: Hmm, you’re right.

Theresia lived the closest, so she was the first to be dropped off.

As she stepped out of the car, Hanson leaned out the window and suddenly called out, “Theresia, there’s actually a second possibility.”

His comment made no sense, so Theresia shot him a puzzled look.

Theresia helped with the final round of interviews and didn’t stop until noon. She was sitting in her office, rubbing her sore neck, when Lewis knocked on her door.

“Teresa, there’s a guy named Warren here to see you.”

Why was he here?

She straightened up. “Let him in.”

Warren came in a moment later, grinning as he placed an insulated lunchbox on her desk. “Teresa, these are all your favorites. Garry asked me to bring them over.”

She blinked, not sure she’d heard right. “He sent you here just to bring me lunch?”

Warren seemed to remember something. “Oh, and this. Garry said I had to give it to you myself.”

He handed her a paper bag. Inside was information about a middle-aged woman. As Theresia flipped through her photos, she saw past the dirt on the woman’s face and realized she looked strikingly similar to that nurse who’d been pretending to be clueless.
