He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 184

Theresia spoke with a quiet confidence, every word landing with a steady, unmistakable force.

Right then, she was like a rose standing tall in the middle of a storm, beautiful and unyielding, refusing to let anyone break her spirit.

The crowd that had been shouting fell into silence. You could almost hear everyone trying to process what she’d just said.

Sensing the shift, Patti grew restless. She wasn’t about to give up so easily. “Don’t let Theresia trick you,” she called out, trying to rally the others. “She and her mom are both the same. Evil, every last bit of them. My dad’s reputation is in ruins, the Baker Group is bankrupt, and I can barely see anymore. It’s all her fault. Don’t believe a word she says!”

Theresia let out a soft, mocking laugh. “Patti, you really have a gift for twisting the truth. Did anyone ruin Eric’s reputation but himself? Nobody forced him to cheat. And the Baker Group fell apart because of his fake charity scams, not because of me. And your vision? Patti, how about we go for a medical exam together and see whose corneas are really in your eyes?”

Patti froze.

Of course, she couldn’t agree to that. That was why she never reported Theresia to the police, even though she always claimed Theresia was the one who caused her eye problems. If anyone started looking into what happened three years ago, she’d lose a lot more than she’d gain.

She glared at Theresia, jaw tight with anger. “Theresia, you’re just making excuses.”

Theresia looked at her calmly, lips curving into a slight smile. “These aren’t excuses. They’re the truth. And while I’m at it, let me make one thing absolutely clear. My mom never seduced Eric. He used his power to force himself on her. The only reason she kept quiet was because he threatened her with me. That’s why she suffered in silence for so many years. I’m saying all of this right here, and I’m ready to take responsibility for every word.”

She remembered how, at eighteen, Leila tried to throw her out of the Baker family. Her grandmother had fought for her, and she vaguely recalled Eric speaking up for her, too.

Back then, she thought maybe he had a shred of conscience left. Now it was clear. He just wanted leverage over Naomi.

How could she not hate him for that?

Theresia wasn’t afraid to speak out, and her willingness to take whatever consequences came her way made it impossible to doubt her. She’d set the record straight for herself.

It wasn’t exactly an answer, and Theresia just laughed softly, letting it go.

She ran her fingers through her hair, the afternoon light catching on her skin, making it look almost luminous. Garry couldn’t look away.

He stepped closer. Then closer still. Then another step...

He pulled her into his arms, holding her tight.

It took her a moment to realize what was happening, and then she started to pull away on instinct.

But before she could, Garry leaned in and whispered by her ear, “Theresia, it must have been so hard for you, all this time.”
