He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 190

Theresia didn’t love him anymore. But did that really matter? It wasn’t like the world was full of couples who actually loved each other equally. As long as he loved her, that was enough. Wasn’t it?

Once Lawrence accepted that, his whole body relaxed, just a little.

His phone started ringing. Patti was calling.

Twenty minutes later, Lawrence got back to his apartment.

He stepped out of the elevator and saw Patti waiting outside his door. As soon as she spotted him, she pushed up her glasses and rushed over, flashing a hopeful smile. “Lawrence, you’re finally home. I’ve been waiting forever.”

Back then, Patti had keys to all of his places, even a spare for his office. Now, she could only stand outside and wait, hoping he’d let her in.

It was all because of Theresia. Ever since she showed up, Lawrence stopped listening to Patti like he used to.

The first thing Patti planned to do once her eyes were healed was to settle things with Theresia.

Lawrence stepped away from her hand before she could touch him, not even bothering to unlock the door. His voice was cold. “What do you want?”

Ever since Theresia left, his smoking habit had gotten out of control. He pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and looked at Patti with thinly veiled annoyance.

Theresia was just… dazzling. Like a star that outshined everyone else. There would always be more people wanting her…

The thought alone made Lawrence burn with jealousy.

Patti saw the look on his face and knew her words had gotten to him. She pressed on, “Lawrence, when a woman becomes too successful, her world gets bigger, and it’s harder to keep her close. We grew up together, always looked out for each other. I do love you… I want to be with you. But more than anything, I want you to be happy. If you’re happy, I’ll accept whatever happens.”

If Lawrence wanted to help, he could easily use his connections to find her a matching cornea. But that wasn’t what Patti wanted. She wanted Theresia’s. She wanted Theresia to stay beneath her forever.

Just as Patti was quietly gloating, thinking she’d gotten through to him, Lawrence suddenly grabbed her by the throat.
