He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 191

Patti could barely breathe. Panic clawed at her chest as she fought to get free, her thick glasses slipping off and clattering onto the floor.

Lawrence's voice dropped to a dangerous whisper. "Patti, really? Even now, you want me to hurt Theresia? Where do you get the nerve?"

Her face was turning blotchy, her hands scrabbling weakly at his arms. "Let me go..." she gasped.

Lawrence’s eyes were dark and sharp as he stared down at her. "Yes, I want Theresia. But I won’t let you use me. If I did what you wanted, she’d only hate me more. She’d never want to be with me. That would really be the end of us."

Patti’s strength faded fast, her fists growing soft and useless. Lawrence still wasn’t satisfied. He didn’t let go.

"How did I never see how twisted you are, Patti? None of this would have happened if it wasn’t for you. It’s all your fault," he said, his voice shaking with anger.

His grip tightened. Lawrence’s eyes were rimmed with red, wild and furious.

Patti’s vision started to blur. Just as she thought she was going to pass out, Lawrence seemed to snap back to reality. He shoved her away.

Patti hit the floor hard, gasping for breath, her whole body shaking. When she looked up and met his glare, she shrank back, terrified.

Lawrence had calmed down, but the look he gave her was pure disgust. "I can’t kill you. The police would come after me, and I’m not about to ruin my chances with Theresia. I’m not losing my freedom because of you."

Hearing that, Patti finally let out a shaky sigh. At least she wasn’t about to die.

But then Lawrence’s next words made her blood run cold.

"At least, not today," he said quietly, his lips curled in a cruel smile.

He yanked open the door and practically tossed Patti out into the hallway.

She was so pale she looked like a ghost. She didn’t dare stay another second. She scrambled to her feet and rushed away.

What kind of man can’t have kids? If he hadn’t been useful to her, she wouldn’t have bothered with him at all.

But Patti never thought that obedient dog would ever turn on her.

He really could have killed her.

Now, for the first time, Patti realized he was no longer under her control.

Across town, Theresia was already at the restaurant, early as usual. She set her phone on the table and waited, tapping her fingers against her coffee cup.

About five minutes before their meeting time, her phone rang. It was Garry.

He glanced at the bouquet of flowers on the seat beside him, a gentle smile in his eyes. "Teresa, I might be a couple minutes late. I’m stuck in traffic on Horizon Boulevard."
