He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 215

Teresa grew up in the Baker family, so she knew her way around the business world. “The George family is honestly one of the most mysterious out there. No one in the media has ever managed to get a single photo of them. They keep everything low-key, never show up at business events, and barely anyone has actually met them. If they didn’t show up near the top of the Forbes list every year, I’d think the whole family was just a myth.”

Simon looked serious. “That’s the one. Last month, one of my students took a job restoring an old painting. He messed it up. He only told me yesterday, so I rushed over to see if there was anything I could do. I spent the entire night looking it over, but I’m stumped. Teresa, can you help me think of a solution?”

“So what does this have to do with the George family?” Teresa asked.

Simon explained, “My student said the person who dropped off the painting told him it belonged to the George family. They care about it a lot and told him to be extra careful.”

If they’d managed to fix the George family’s painting, this could have been huge—fame, money, the works. Now everything was a mess.

Teresa forgot all about her tea and stood up. “Simon, let’s go look at the painting.”

He brought her back to his place. The house sat alongside a little bridge and stream, totally picturesque, almost like something out of a poem.

Teresa couldn’t help but admire it. Simon definitely knew how to enjoy life.

Simon brought out the damaged painting. Teresa stepped closer, studying it. “This palace ladies portrait looks like an authentic piece from the Concord Empire. It’s so rare to see a scroll from that era still in such good condition.”

Simon nodded. “Yeah, it’s from the Concord Empire. It’s worth a fortune, but after over a thousand years, it’s definitely suffered some damage.”

Teresa gently touched the painted face of one of the women. “When you restore an old painting, there’s a step called cleaning the core. You wash the painting, steam it with hot water, then use towels to soak up the dirty water and remove the backing paper. The most important thing is not to damage the core of the painting. That’s the trickiest part. Looks like that’s exactly where your student went wrong.”

Teresa grinned. “You’re giving me a car?”

Simon rolled his eyes. “Of course. Why else would I send you to the garage? And listen, Farris gave you a car worth two million, right? You have to pick one that’s more expensive than that. Got it?”

Was Farris in trouble with Simon again without even knowing it?

Teresa pressed her lips together, trying not to laugh. It wasn’t easy.

After a moment, she managed to say just one word. “Deal.”
