He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 222

This was the first time Teresa truly understood what it meant to be someone’s favorite.

“Simon, it’s not a big deal. No one will find out,” she said.

“That doesn’t matter. I’m not letting you do it, Teresa,” Simon replied, stubborn as ever.

Teresa could tell she wasn’t going to change his mind. She gave up trying and just shrugged. “Fine. If you don’t need me, I’ll go home and get some rest.”

“I’ll take you,” Simon insisted.

“That’s not necessary.”

“It is.”

“Seriously, you don’t have to.”

They were still going back and forth as they stepped outside, bumping right into Parrish, who was just dropping off Davina.

Parrish looked at Teresa, concern all over his face. “Teresa, are you okay?”

Teresa really didn’t think it was anything serious. “I’m fine. Just running a bit of a fever.”

Parrish’s expression got even more worried. “A fever’s not something to brush off. I’m taking you to the hospital.”

Davina chimed in, looking anxious too. “Teresa, just let Parrish take you. We’ll feel better knowing you’ve seen a doctor.”

With the three of them focused on her, Teresa realized she didn’t stand a chance. If she didn’t agree, she probably wouldn’t be allowed to leave.

She shivered, then felt a wave of heat. She had to admit she wasn’t exactly feeling great.

So she nodded and let Parrish lead her to his car.

It was pretty empty in the clinic. After a while, Teresa cleared her throat and broke the silence. “Parrish, did Davina tell you I’m not planning to date anyone right now?”

Parrish looked up and met her eyes. “She did. But that doesn’t mean I can’t try. Honestly, before I met you, I never thought about getting serious this soon. After meeting you, everything changed. I know it might sound bold, but I mean it.”

“You have every right to turn me down, but I also have the right to show you how I feel. You don’t have to stop me, Teresa. I just don’t want any regrets. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll run out of energy for this, and when that happens, I’ll let go.”

He said it all so openly, his smile warm and genuine.

Right then, Teresa’s phone started ringing.

She glanced at the screen. It was Warren calling.

She hesitated for a second, then picked up. “Hey, Warren.”

Warren’s voice came through the line. “Teresa, you left your earring at Garry’s place. He asked me to bring it to you. Where are you right now?”
