He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 72

Theresia’s hand flew out again, landing another slap before anyone could react.

Patti pressed a hand to her burning cheek, her eyes practically spitting fire. “Theresia, you—”

Theresia didn’t let her finish. She turned to Leila with a wide-eyed innocence. “Leila, Patti was glaring at me. It scared me. I just reacted, really. It wasn’t on purpose.”

Leila could hardly believe her ears. Theresia actually dared to hit Patti right in front of her? Rage colored her face, but before she could explode, Theresia switched gears.

“Aren’t we supposed to be having dinner? Let’s eat.”

The sudden change of subject left both Leila and Patti blinking. They locked eyes, each forcing themselves to keep it together.

Leila managed a strained smile. “Right, right. Let’s eat first. We can talk over dinner.”

Theresia barely glanced at them as she strolled into the dining room.

Patti followed, still nursing her cheek. Her voice was sharp and low. “Mom, I swear I’ll get back at her.”

Leila patted her hand. “You will. As soon as we get that video, you can do whatever you want. With that kind of leverage, she won’t dare fight back.”

When they reached the dining room, Theresia sat down without waiting for anyone else. Leila joined her, giving a quick signal to the maid before putting on her friendliest voice.

“Theresia, try this. See if it still tastes the way you remember.”

In front of Theresia was a plate of steamed fish, her childhood favorite. She hadn’t tasted it in years. After Patti moved in and complained about the fishy smell, Leila had banned it from the house.

Suddenly, her chopsticks slipped from her hand and clattered onto the table. “I think… I feel a little dizzy…”

Patti didn’t bother hiding her satisfaction anymore. She leaned back with a wicked grin. “Gee, I wonder why, you bitch.”

Before Theresia could say another word, she slumped forward, unconscious.

Patti walked over and gave her a shove. Leila glanced at her, worry flickering across her face. “Are you sure she won’t wake up?”

Patti scoffed. “Relax. I used triple the dose. It could knock out a bull. She’s not going anywhere.”

Leila finally let herself relax. Once they got that video of Theresia with another man, they could force her to marry the heir of BluePeak Ventures. That marriage would bring them a fortune, and with that kind of dirt, Theresia would be under their control forever. Every cent she made would belong to them.
