He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 78

When everything finally settled down, Patti got back in her car and noticed her phone lying on the passenger seat. The screen was still lit up, showing the message where she’d sent the room number to that guy. That’s how Theresia had found out which room it was. She’d seen Patti’s phone and run straight to Jared.

Theresia was unbelievable. Patti could barely keep her anger in check.

Leila was just as upset, but her concern was even bigger. “Patti, the most important thing right now isn’t getting back at Theresia. It’s figuring out what to do about Jared. He saw you with another man. Even if I believe nothing happened, Jared won’t. And now he knows you’re not pregnant. He’s definitely going to divorce you, and The Baker Group can’t survive another crisis.”

Patti knew exactly how bad things were. She had tried calling Jared on the way home, but he’d blocked her everywhere. There was no way to reach him.

Right now, she just felt exhausted and anxious. “Mom, I want to go upstairs and rest. Can we talk about this tomorrow?”

Leila stared at her for a few seconds, then finally nodded. “Okay. I’ll have someone run you a bath. Get some sleep. We’ll figure things out in the morning.”

Yesterday’s drama didn’t slow Theresia down at all. She still made her trip to Silverpine. Her flight was in the afternoon, so she spent the morning meeting Farris’s mom.

When it came to buying GlobalSpan Logistics, Marietta didn’t have any objections. She signed the transfer papers right away.

Marietta really liked Theresia. She held onto Theresia’s hand, not wanting to let go, and when it was time to say goodbye, she insisted on packing up all the fancy health supplements clients had given her and handing them over.

Theresia tried to refuse, but Marietta wouldn’t hear of it. In the end, Theresia had no choice but to leave, arms full of bags, with Farris following behind.

Silverpine wasn’t far from Harrisburg. The flight was just over two hours. Theresia used the time to look up information about Kingsport and made plans to get GlobalSpan Logistics started on the bidding process as soon as her current business was wrapped up.

She arrived in Silverpine at five in the afternoon. The hotel she booked was within walking distance of Webb’s university.

She was too anxious to wait even one night. As soon as she dropped off her luggage, she headed out on foot to the campus.

At the same time, back in Harrisburg, Aaron rushed over to find Lawrence, his face full of panic.

“Lawrence, something bad has happened.”
