He Gave Her My Eyes A Story of Final Sight novel Chapter 85

Theresia had no problem sharing her joy. She switched off her phone, her eyes lit up with a gentle smile. “Garry, looks like all the work I put in finally paid off.”

Webb had messaged her, agreeing to testify for her. All she needed to do was let him know when the time came.

It had been ages since she’d gotten news this good. Theresia could hardly contain her happiness.

Still, she knew better than to rush things.

Webb’s testimony alone wouldn’t be enough to shake Lawrence. If she pushed Webb forward too soon, Lawrence could easily discredit him, and it would only make him more cautious. Theresia needed more proof. She had just one shot at this, and she couldn’t afford to miss.

A small smile tugged at Garry’s lips. He was genuinely happy for her, even though he was surprised someone as self-serving as Webb had finally come around.

Garry had actually considered using some drastic measures to convince Webb, but clearly, that wasn’t necessary now.

“Congrats, Teresa,” Garry said.

Her smile grew even brighter. “Thank you, Garry.”

They shared a look, the kind only people who understood each other’s struggles could exchange.

The two-hour flight passed by, and for the first time in days, Theresia slept soundly. She hadn’t felt this relaxed or at ease since arriving in Silverpine.

She slowly pulled off her eye mask, then noticed a blanket draped over her.

She didn’t remember putting it on.

Curious, she glanced at Garry sitting beside her. He was completely absorbed in his book, not paying attention to anything else.

It probably wasn’t him. They weren’t quite at that level, were they?

Theresia figured a flight attendant must have covered her up so she wouldn’t get cold.

Soon, the plane landed without a hitch.

Passengers filed off, and Theresia and Garry walked through the airport, one after the other. Just as they were about to leave the terminal, Garry asked, “Need a ride?”

Before she could answer, a voice called out nearby. “Theresia, over here!”

Warren hurried after him, noticing that Garry’s entire face was stormy.

Warren held his breath, half-expecting Garry to explode any second.

Suddenly, Garry said quietly, “Look into it.”

Warren got the message right away. “Got it. I’ll have someone check it out.”

After loading her suitcase into the trunk, Helena drove straight from the airport to Harrisburg’s fanciest mall, dragging Theresia along with her.

“We’re picking out a dress for you—something that’ll make everyone stare.”

Theresia groaned. “I’m not trying to find a date. Why make such a fuss? Plus, it’s your party. You should be the one getting all the attention, not me.”

Helena linked her arm through Theresia’s. “You’re my best friend. You can steal my spotlight anytime you want. Let’s go. MOMO just dropped a new dress, and rumor has it there’s only one in the world. Plus, it’s so picky about body shape that hardly anyone can pull it off.”
