Moonlight was surprisingly adept at reading the room. Realizing its mother was absent, it gave two brief barks and then fell silent.

Nelson crouched in front of it and poked its rear. "You really are a little beast, aren't you?"

Just as the words left his mouth, his phone rang. It was Julian Sterling.

Julian and Zara Zimmer had already arrived at the venue. Having recently tied the knot, they naturally had to put on a public display of marital bliss.

Sebastian's wife had been feeling unwell that day, so the eldest Sterling brother had attended the event alone.

The three of them were currently seated together in the ship's cavernous main hall. The interior decor was so subtly opulent it left people speechless. Rumor had it that this particular cruise ship had been provided by Margot's youngest son, Julian Harrington. Although he had left the country years ago and never returned, it didn't mean he had cut ties with his family. He simply couldn't find peace after the tragic loss of his daughter.

Everyone knew he had built an empire overseas and was a force no one dared cross.

The fact that he casually tossed a ridiculously luxurious cruise ship his mother's way for her birthday was a testament to his dizzying wealth, making plenty of people green with envy.

Julian lounged in his seat, his tone lazy as he spoke to Nelson on the phone. "Not here yet? Don't tell me some woman snagged your attention on the way?"

Nelson scooped Moonlight into his arms, thoroughly bullying the dog while Juniper wasn't around. "I'll be there in half an hour."

Julian was about to say something else when, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Alistair and Juniper following the Harrington butler toward the VIP private elevator.

He froze, then spoke into the receiver, "I just saw Juniper. She looks like she's Dr. Vaughn's date."

Nelson's expression instantly darkened, and he dropped Moonlight onto the floor. "Are you sure?"

Julian let out a low chuckle. "What do you think? Honestly, I'm curious who this Dr. Vaughn really is. It looks like he just took the Harringtons' private elevator."

Nelson spun on his heel and strode purposefully out the door.

After hanging up, Julian noticed Sebastian still tapping away on his laptop, working right in the middle of a party. He clicked his tongue in annoyance.

A waiter approached with fresh coffee, leaning down to add sugar and cream, but Zara quietly interjected, "I'll do it."

The waiter gave a polite nod, setting the sugar and cream down.
