He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 180

She had genuinely assumed Scarlett would appreciate the gesture, take the easy out she was offering, and allow the family to peacefully reunite.

She never imagined Scarlett would throw the olive branch in her face, completely disrespect her, and even bring her best friend along to verbally slaughter them.

In her entire life, Clarissa had never been pointed at and humiliated like that. She was absolutely vibrating with fury.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that all her recent efforts had been a complete waste on an ungrateful wretch.

Did Scarlett think she was invincible just because she gave birth to a daughter?

Well, Clarissa was going to make sure Scarlett learned a hard lesson. At the end of the day, that child had Flynn blood running through her veins. If the Flynn family wanted her, there was no way in hell Scarlett was taking her away.

When it came down to a battle of absolute interests and loyalties, Clarissa’s priority was always the reputation and power of the Flynn family.

Since Scarlett was so eager to repeatedly slap the Flynns in the face, Clarissa was going to use the daughter to send a message. She was going to make sure Scarlett understood that in this world, the Flynn family ruled supreme!

Right as Clarissa was solidifying her plan, she suddenly spotted Sylvia standing in the living room of Flynn Manor.

Seeing her instantly reignited Clarissa’s temper, her face darkening. "What are you doing here? You and your mother really pulled a fast one on my mom, didn't you? Tricked her until she ended up in the hospital. We treated you like family, Sylvia. Is this how you repay us?"

Sylvia stood frozen, looking incredibly fragile and on the verge of tears. "Clarissa, my mom and I know we were wrong. I came here today specifically to apologize."

"Aunt Corinne, are you feeling any better? I'm so sorry, Aunt Corinne. It's all my fault you ended up in the hospital. I'll do anything to make it up to you... I'd get down on my knees and beg if I had to."

With that, Sylvia rushed forward, preparing to drop to her knees in front of Corinne.

Startled by the dramatic display and seeing how terrified Sylvia looked, the bulk of Corinne's anger instantly evaporated. She quickly reached out and caught Sylvia by the arms. "Sylvia, what are you doing? Stop that right now! Alright, alright. We're all family here. Blood is thicker than water. What you and your mother did was completely out of line, but she is my only sister. I can't hold a permanent grudge against you two. Just promise me you won't ever pull a stunt like that again!"
