He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 190

Right in the middle of the euphoria, a cold, harsh, entirely unwelcome voice cut through the room.

"As a married woman, getting drunk with a bunch of men this late at night... don't you think that's a bit inappropriate?"

The voice was grating to the ears. Scarlett didn't even bother to process it before hurling her empty beer bottle forcefully in the direction of the sound.

"Mind your own business. You're about to be my ex-husband. What right do you have to police me?" she shot back with a lethal glare.

Yardley and Sylvia were standing side-by-side at the entrance. Both of their faces were a sickly, ghastly pale as they stared blankly at her and the crowd.

Yardley caught the empty bottle and, without a word, smashed it violently against the floor!

The sharp sound of shattering glass startled everyone. They all shot up from their seats, staring at him in stunned silence.

The only person who didn't move was Julian. He remained comfortably seated in the center of the room, calmly playing with a bespoke fountain pen.

The pen was an exquisite piece, crafted from rare, aged materials with a deep, ink-like luster, its elegant design showcasing top-tier craftsmanship. It was a special gift Scarlett had won at an auction, given in return for the beautiful present he had brought for Dawn. Julian absolutely loved it and hadn't let it out of his hands since receiving it.

His long fingers traced the fine details smoothly. His composed, aristocratic demeanor stood in sharp contrast to Yardley's explosive rage and the panicked silence of the room.

Furious, Yardley marched forward and seized Scarlett by the wrist. "You aren't divorced yet! You are still my wife. Drinking late at night with a pack of men—what the hell do you think you're doing? We're going home!"

She wrenched her arm away violently and immediately swung her hand toward his face. "You actually have the nerve to call me your wife?!"

"When your family ordered a blacklist against me, spread vicious rumors, and froze my bank accounts, did you treat me like your wife then?"
