He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 191

No one expected Julian Croft to drop the divorce bombshell right then and there.

Sylvia Stetson was stunned. She looked at Julian as if struck by lightning, her face completely drained of color.

"Julian, what... what did you say?"

As the reality set in, she cupped her face in disbelief, her body trembling uncontrollably.

"You... you want a divorce?"

"And you... you don't even want our son? You... you want to cut ties with me completely?"

"Why? Why? What on earth did I do wrong to deserve this?"

"Or have you really moved on... you've changed, haven't you? You didn't actually fall for Scarlett Langley, did you?"

Sylvia completely lost it.

Like a madwoman, she threw herself at Julian's feet, her eyes wide as she grabbed onto his pant legs with a death grip, refusing to let go.

Julian stared down at her, his gaze as cold and sharp as a knife.

"Sylvia, you can eat whatever you want, but you can't just spew garbage. Scarlett and I have absolutely nothing going on."

But Sylvia wasn't listening.

"Julian, I never imagined you'd do this to me!"

"I left my home, traveled all the way to Country A, and stayed by your side for five whole years! I gave you a beautiful, healthy boy, Caleb! You weren't even around to take care of me during my entire pregnancy or my postpartum recovery, and I forgave you for that!"

"And now, after everything, you want to divorce me! You don't even want your own son!"

Tears streamed down Sylvia's face as she threw a full-blown tantrum right there in the private room.

She suddenly let out a piercing scream and swept all the unopened bottles of liquor off the coffee table.

The room instantly became a sea of shattered glass and spilled alcohol.

Everyone exchanged nervous glances, dead silent, not daring to make a sound.

"Julian, you're a monster! You abandon your wife and child, you... you can rot in hell!"

"You think you can just get a divorce because you say so? In your dreams! I will never divorce you! I'll drag this out until it ruins you!"

"And you... you too, Scarlett, you bitch! You two just wait, karma is going to get you both!"

After her hysterical outburst, Sylvia clamped a hand over her mouth, unable to take it anymore, and bolted out the door.

Ever since the airport, every word out of his mouth had been loaded with venom, making Yardley incredibly uncomfortable but entirely unable to fire back.

"Alright, alright, let's all just take a breath," Harbour Quinn quickly stepped in to smooth things over, seeing the situation escalating. "Yardley, Julian just got back to the country today, and we're all thrilled. Sit down and have a few drinks."

Harbour reached out to pull Yardley back.

To his surprise, Yardley shoved his hand away fiercely. His expression was freezing, a humorless smirk playing on his lips.

"No thanks. I can't stomach a drink right now."

"Julian, it's pouring rain out there. Sylvia just ran out all by herself. Are you really not going to go after her?"

Julian didn't even bat an eye, his tone completely indifferent.

"If you feel so bad for her, you can go after her."

Yardley: "..."

Gordon Wyatt also tried to play the peacemaker, forcing a laugh.

"Yardley, it's fine. Sylvia will definitely head home on her own. She's an adult."

"Just sit down, talk things out with Julian. We've all been buddies since we were kids, there's no need to..."
