While Corinne was privately gloating, Jacqueline's face had turned a deadly shade of pale. She was shaking with rage.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a worker walking up with a paint roller and a bucket of paint.
Without a second thought, Jacqueline snatched the roller from the worker, soaked it in paint, and shoved it directly into Melanie's face.
"I've finally experienced the Flynn family's flawless upbringing! If an unmarried sister-in-law is this vicious and foul-mouthed, I can only imagine the hell Scarlett endured in your house all these years!"
"If you dare come to my turf and run your mouths, don't blame me for crossing the line! This is a construction site, so I don't have much to offer. Have some paint and cement! After all, we've been in-laws for years—consider this my hospitality!"
Jacqueline had lost her mind. She wildly swung the paint-soaked roller at both Melanie and Corinne.
Many of the La Belle Nuit staff were helping at the site. Hearing the commotion, they had already gathered around.
They adored and respected Jacqueline. Seeing their boss being bullied, they didn't hesitate. Grabbing buckets of mixed cement and paint, they charged forward.
By the time Yardley snapped out of his shock and tried to break up the fight, the situation was completely out of control.
It was three of them against over a dozen angry workers. Paint flew, cement splashed. The Flynns were forced back, completely powerless to defend themselves.
In a matter of seconds, their designer clothes were covered in thick clumps of cement and dripping paint.
Corinne's face twisted in horror, her voice cracking.
"Jacqueline! You... tell them to stop right now!"
Melanie had paint shoved in her mouth and couldn't even scream. Holding her face, she turned to run. But as she hit the stairs, her heel caught on a piece of rebar, and she pitched forward, crashing spectacularly to the ground.
