He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 929

Right then, Julian's phone buzzed. It was a text from the approaching task force. They were closing in and would arrive in about ten minutes.

He caught Scarlett's eye and quickly flashed ten fingers. She understood instantly.

"We are never letting you start those machines," she declared.

Veronica's face contorted into something vicious. "Fine. You asked for it! Don't blame me for what happens next!"

"Turn the hoses back on! Blast them until they leave!" she shrieked.

The workers gripped the heavy hoses. Though they looked reluctant, they obeyed their boss and twisted the valves, unleashing a torrent of high-pressure water straight at the couple.

Within seconds, Julian and Scarlett were soaked to the bone.

Seeing the powerful jet of water aimed directly at his wife, Julian snapped. He charged forward, punched the closest worker square in the jaw, ripped the hose out of his hands, and turned the blast directly onto Veronica.

She had never expected the weapon to be turned against her.

Instantly, her dress was plastered to her body by the freezing, muddy water. She shrieked in absolute hysteria, "Are you crazy?! Stop it! Turn it off!"

Unlike the elderly Madeleine, Julian was young, athletic, and furious. There was no way these hired hands could physically overpower him. Gripping the heavy nozzle like a machine gun, he efficiently forced the remaining workers to retreat, blasting them backward.

Then, he locked his aim firmly on Veronica and let loose.

She was hit so hard she couldn't even stand up straight. The sheer force of the water tore at her dress, exposing her cleavage and ripping the high slit even higher, leaving the stunned crew of men staring in shock.
