He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 293

Julian Croft and Chatwin Wyatt stood outside. One wore a light blue button-down, the other a crisp, minimalist white shirt. They looked incredibly sharp and refreshing, like a duo stepped right off a magazine cover.

"You've been working overtime all week. Tomorrow is Saturday, and as your partner, I am officially mandating that you take a day off," Julian said with a warm, bright laugh.

Only then did Scarlett realize it was already Friday. She smiled. "But my design isn't finished yet. I really want to get it done."

Julian raised an eyebrow. "Rome wasn't built in a day. You have to balance work and rest. Exhaustion kills creativity—take it from my personal experience."

Scarlett laughed and turned to the lawyer. "What brings you by today?"

Chatwin handed her a file. "The verdict for the Zenith Tower copyright dispute is in. We provided overwhelming evidence, and the court ruled that the design rights belong entirely to you. You're free to collaborate with whichever real estate developer you choose."

She took the file, genuinely surprised. "The Flynn Group... backed down that easily? They poured a massive amount of capital into the early stages of this project."

Chatwin nodded. "It was strange. Their lawyers just went through the motions. They didn't even present sufficient evidence. It felt like they deliberately threw the case to let you win."

Scarlett was stunned. Given Yardley's usual aggressive nature, he fought tooth and nail for every penny. Not to mention, Zenith Tower was a cornerstone project for them. Giving it up without a fight was completely out of character.

Glancing over the documents, she felt a wave of relief and tucked them away. "Thank you again. I couldn't have done it without you."

Chatwin winked playfully. "How are you going to thank me? Words alone won't cut it."

She couldn't help but laugh. "Well... do you want dinner or drinks? I'm free this weekend. I'll invite Talia, too—she's your biggest fan."

He smiled cryptically, feigning disappointment. "Is that so? I was hoping for a romantic candlelight dinner for two."
