He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 424

Vincent's hysterical roaring echoed like thunder through the dead-silent hall via the speakerphone.

Corinne and Melanie's faces instantly turned a sickly shade of purple. They looked utterly miserable.

Humiliated and furious, Melanie opened her mouth to scream back at the phone, but a slender, firm hand snatched it away and abruptly ended the call.

It was Clarissa.

Her face was ashen. "Enough! Do you still not get it?"

"Stop causing trouble! Apologize to Ms. Langley and Mrs. Croft right now! Business is about keeping the peace. Don't let your idiotic behavior drag the entire Flynn Group down with you!"

Clarissa had been biting her tongue, disgusted by her mother and sister's ignorant arrogance, but she finally had to step in.

Melanie's nostrils flared in outrage. "You want me to apologize to them? In your dreams! I am not apologizing!"

Corinne tugged at Melanie's sleeve, about to say something, when her phone vibrated frantically again.

It was Catherine Flynn, her second daughter.

Corinne's heart clenched as a dreadful premonition washed over her.

Her hands shook as she answered. Before she could speak, Catherine's terrified, sobbing voice tore through the line.

"Mom! Who the hell did you offend?! Just apologize to them! I'm begging you!"

"My life is over if you don't! Vincent has completely lost it... He said if you cost him his company right now, he'll beat me until I'm crippled! Mom, please... please, have some mercy on me!"

Listening to her daughter's mental breakdown, Corinne's heart twisted into agonizing knots. She could barely breathe.
