"I know. Funding is our biggest hurdle right now, but..."
Before Yardley could finish, Catherine—who had been quietly standing beside Corinne—spoke up.
"I could ask Vincent about the funding issue."
"He mentioned a few days ago that his big boss is actively looking for promising domestic projects to invest in... I can have him look into it."
Corinne's eyes instantly lit up. "Really? If your husband can pull in an investment for Yardley, that would be a lifesaver!"
"Catherine, hurry! Call Vincent right now! Let's see if this is actually viable!"
"Your father has clearly turned his back on us. You all have to help your brother right now. We absolutely cannot let that homewrecker win, or we're all finished!"
Catherine nodded, pulling out her phone as she stepped aside to call Vincent.
-
In a VIP hospital room.
Gordon lay pale and motionless in the bed, still deeply asleep.
The crash had left him severely injured—three broken ribs, a fractured right leg, and internal damage. Luckily, his heart and brain had been spared.
After visiting him as a group, an exhausted Scarlett returned to the car with Julian.
No sooner had she sat down than a video call from her brother, Zachary, came through.
Scarlett answered. "Hey."
"Why the long face? You seem upset."
Scarlett's heart raced. She couldn't help but turn to Julian, her eyes practically sparkling with joy.
Julian smiled back and tilted the camera toward himself, giving the cool, handsome guy on the screen a casual wave. "You're a genius, Zach."
"Since you and Scarlett don't share the same last name, they'll never see the family connection coming."
"Once her divorce is legally recognized, and you've locked down that thirty percent, she's going to walk into that boardroom as an executive director. Their jaws are going to drop."
Zachary's deep, steady voice came through the speaker. "The Flynns dared to treat my sister and my niece like garbage. I'm going to teach them a lesson they won't forget."
"Since they didn't give her a dime, I'll make sure she becomes the youngest female CEO in the entire country! They'll all be answering to her."
Scarlett was overwhelmed with emotion. "I am so lucky to have you. You're the best brother in the world!"
Julian leaned in close, flashing a charming grin. "And what about me? What am I?"
