Chatwin's thumb gently caressed her lower lip. His eyes were so deep she felt like she could fall into them.

Talia's brain completely shut down again. She felt like she'd been tossed into an oven; her entire body was burning up.

"Chatwin, you just said... 'the woman they like'... who... who does that mean?"

She stammered, pressing her hands against his chest but finding absolutely no strength to push him away. "Does that mean me?"

She was forced to meet his gaze. Gone was his usual playful detachment, replaced by a thick, overwhelming affection and restraint.

He spoke slowly, his voice hoarse. "I like you. Not as a joke, not as a friend, and definitely not as an older brother. But... as a man."

Talia's heart skipped a beat. She opened her mouth but found she had lost her voice.

"I know you're a coward, and I know you're a late bloomer."

Chatwin continued, his fingers lightly brushing her cheek. "I also know you love to act like a seasoned player, like some romance expert, but in reality, you're easily scared and incredibly naive. That's why you got tricked so easily."

"Instead of getting scammed by random creeps, you might as well let me trick you for the rest of your life. From now on, you only look at me. You only direct your dirty mind at me. I absolutely forbid you from sending those explicit, flirty texts to any other man. Deal?"

His tone was bossy, yet layered with an undeniable tenderness.

Talia stared at him, her eyes growing hot.

She had always thought they were just messing around, and the more they joked, the more frustrated she actually felt deep down.

She thought that in Chatwin's eyes, she was just an innocent kid who refused to grow up. She never realized he had placed her right in the center of his heart.
