After holding it in for so long, Yardley finally unleashed everything he had been bottling up.
Watching her son stand up to his father, Corinne felt a profound sense of awe, followed by an overwhelming surge of maternal pride.
This was the boy she had desperately prayed for, the son she had endured four pregnancies to have.
When it really mattered, he was the only one who could truly protect her, the only one strong enough to face down her husband, and the only one who genuinely understood her pain.
Bolstered by Yardley's protection, Corinne's confidence skyrocketed.
"Every single penny you spent on that woman, every house you bought her—it all belongs to us! It's joint marital property! My legal team has already compiled the bank statements and paper trails. The second I file the lawsuit, the court will order a full restitution! Did you really think you were that slick?!"
She paused, her lips curling into a vicious sneer.
"You want that slut and her bastards to take my place? Over my dead body! It is never going to happen!"
With that, Corinne whipped her head around, her piercing glare locking onto Irene.
"Ms. Sommers. This is a private family event. Get the hell out of here right now."
"If you don't leave this second, I'll have security physically throw you out!"
Irene had intended to play the victim, hoping her tears would make Franklin despise Corinne even more.
She never anticipated that Yardley would so ruthlessly cut off all avenues of escape to protect his mother.
Tears immediately welled up in Irene's eyes. Biting her lower lip, she looked up at Franklin with a heartbreakingly fragile expression.
"Franklin..." she whimpered softly.
Seeing the tears brimming in Irene's eyes instantly ignited Franklin's fury.
He shot Yardley a lethal glare.
"What, you think you've grown wings? You think you're powerful enough to challenge me now?"
"Don't forget who gave you that CEO title! Without my authorization, you can't even sign a basic contract!"
