He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 672

She pointed impatiently toward the door. "Are you done looking? If so, you can leave. Dawn is going to have her bottle and take a nap soon."

He had only been here for ten minutes.

And she was already kicking him out?

Yardley's heart sank. A wave of instinctive displeasure, accompanied by an inexplicable sense of humiliation, slowly rose within him.

His suppressed pride flared up. His expression turned icy, and his voice involuntarily dropped a few degrees.

"Do you have to be so cold to me?"

Scarlett looked at him, genuinely puzzled.

"Yardley, we are strangers with no ties to each other anymore. Excuse me, but exactly how warm do you expect me to be?"

He took a step forward, his voice slightly raspy. "The Flynn Group is no longer in the volatile state it was before."

"And?" Scarlett asked.

A hint of arrogance bled into Yardley's eyes. "A top-tier foreign firm, AM Capital, is going to continuously inject funds into the Flynn Group and partner with us for future development. Do you know what that means?"

Scarlett met his gaze, completely unfazed. "What does it mean?"

Yardley pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a dry chuckle. "With this funding, every single one of our projects will be revitalized. Our momentum is incredible, and our stock is rising day after day. The Flynn Group is on the verge of an explosive comeback. Are you absolutely sure you don't regret walking away?"

It took Scarlett a moment to unravel his roundabout logic.

He obviously had no idea that the massive foreign investment had been arranged by her own brother. Or that the new executive director the Flynn Group was throwing a grand welcome party for next week was, in fact, her.

Looking at the familiar pride and superiority on his face, and the deliberate way he was flaunting his status in front of her, she couldn't help but laugh.

"So, you didn't really come here to see Dawn today. You came to test the waters and see if I was begging to come back?"
