The words "ten billion" made Yardley's pupils constrict sharply.
He snapped his head toward the door and saw Julian Croft standing there in a crisp, casual white outfit, holding a bag of expensive toys.
Julian looked at Yardley, his usually serene expression laced with undeniable hostility.
As their eyes met, the air in the room seemed to instantly solidify. The atmosphere grew dangerously tense.
Yardley's lips parted in a mock smile. "A ten-billion-dollar investment? You've got to be joking."
"It's just a tiny design studio. I refuse to believe any investor would throw ten billion at it."
"Let me remind you that AM Capital, the most powerful foreign investment firm out there, only injected five billion into the Flynn Group after thoroughly vetting our comprehensive strength. I highly suspect you're just feeding Scarlett empty promises."
Yardley's face was a mask of arrogance, his eyes dripping with disdain.
As far as he was concerned, this was just a pathetic ploy Julian was using to keep Scarlett tied to his studio. After all, besides Julian's talent for design, Croft Design Studio had absolutely nothing else going for it.
Julian stepped into the room and instinctively took his place by Scarlett's side. He glared back at Yardley.
"Croft Design Studio isn't just sticking to design anymore. We're assembling a professional team, bringing in heavy-duty construction infrastructure, and integrating design, development, and real estate sales into one powerhouse. That is exactly why we secured a ten-billion-dollar investment."
On the surface, Yardley looked completely unfazed, but his heart had just taken a massive hit.
It took him several seconds to recover before he looked at Julian with renewed contempt.
"I don't believe for a second that there's an investor out there stupid enough to burn ten billion dollars on a second-rate shell company with zero real estate experience."
"Julian, don't tell me that the 'stupid investor' with too much money to burn is actually you?"
Julian held Yardley's gaze. "I only have two points to make to you."
"First, Scarlett currently has people who are willing to invest in her and support her in carving out her own empire. It is completely impossible for her to return to the Flynn Group to be some lowly designer or 'Design Director.'"
"Second, Croft Design Studio is officially entering the real estate sector. If there's a viable project out there, we're going after it. You'd better mentally prepare yourself now, so you aren't caught off guard when we completely wipe the floor with you."
Julian's eyes were razor-sharp, his tone unyielding. He radiated an aura of quiet, unquestionable authority.
Yardley stood his ground, refusing to show weakness. His lips pressed into a thin line. After several seconds of tense standoff, he finally let out a scoff.
"I've given you my warning. Say whatever you want."
"If you want to play businessman and invade the territory I dominate, by all means, bring it on."
