He Lost Me to His Best Friend novel Chapter 706

Sylvia followed Craig into the luxurious black SUV sent by the Schmidt family.

Craig took the window seat, and Sylvia slid in beside him.

Out of nowhere, Craig asked softly, "Sylvia, how are things between Corinne and Franklin lately?"

Sylvia blinked, taken aback. "Franklin wants a divorce, but Corinne refuses. My cousins are against it too. Right now, it's just a stalemate."

She looked at him, puzzled.

"Dad, why are you suddenly asking about this?"

"No reason," Craig replied, his tone heavy with unspoken implications. "Just checking in on an old friend. You might not know this, but Corinne and I were classmates in high school. We were actually quite close back then..."

Sylvia had never heard this piece of trivia.

And honestly, she didn't care.

What she did care about was the agonizing image of Julian holding Scarlett's baby, acting like the perfect, loving family.

Her hatred for Scarlett was now a raging, unstoppable river.

Instinctively, she linked her arm through Craig's, testing the waters.

"Dad... do you think you and Yardley could team up to run Scarlett and Julian out of Bay City?"

"I feel like if Schmidt Properties and the Flynn Group joined forces to crush them, there's no way they'd be able to survive in this town."

Craig was staring blankly out the window, lost in thought, and didn't really process what she said.

Annoyed by his lack of attention, Sylvia shook his arm, her voice taking on a whiny, petulant edge.

"Dad, are you even listening to me..."

Craig snapped back to reality. "Oh, right. You want Schmidt Properties to partner with the Flynn Group? I have no problem with that. As long as Yardley is on board, I'll absolutely cooperate."

"By the way, Sylvia, what does Yardley like to do in his free time? Any hobbies?"

Sylvia was confused by the pivot but answered honestly.
