"No. When it comes to something I'm this certain about, I want the whole world to know. When you truly love someone, you don't leave yourself an out—because I want you for the rest of my life."
His gaze was burning, practically sparking with electricity. That sheer, unwavering certainty made her feel both deeply cherished and incredibly secure.

They stayed up talking for a long time, only deciding to head to bed well past midnight.
But before they could even lie down, Julian's phone rang. It was his mother, sounding frantic.
"Julian, your grandmother snuck out of the house! She's gone!"
His heart skipped a beat. "What? Mom, what happened?"
"She got a call saying something was wrong over at The Breeze Pagoda and was desperate to leave. Your dad and I tried to stop her, but she tricked us into thinking she went to sleep, then snuck out the window and left in the middle of the night!"
Julian and Scarlett exchanged a tense look.
"Mom, I know exactly where she went," he said decisively. "Don't panic. Scarlett and I are heading out to find her right now."
"Your dad and I are coming too!" Elara said quickly. "Let's go together!"
They scrambled out of their pajamas, got dressed, and rushed to the car. After picking up Elara and Dominic, they sped directly toward The Breeze Pagoda.
