He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 431

Sebastian didn't try to stop her as they swiftly entered the freezing morgue.

The doctor had already pulled out the drawer, and Sebastian laid eyes on Hope's body.

"Mr. Hayes, this is the child's body. How would you like us to proceed?" the doctor asked bluntly.

The temperature inside the freezer was bone-chillingly low.

It was so cold that a thin layer of mist hung in the air.

Sebastian stared down at Hope's lifeless form. She was so quiet.

Standing beside him, Janetta saw the body as well, and a wave of revulsion washed over her at the grim environment.

Especially when she looked at this particular child.

For reasons she couldn't quite articulate, Janetta felt a flicker of genuine dread.

But outwardly, she kept her composure flawless.

Remaining quietly by Sebastian's side, she slipped her phone out without making a sound.

Before the extreme cold could shut the device down, she managed to snap a profile shot of the tiny corpse.

No one noticed Janetta's covert action.

But she knew exactly what she was doing.

Helena hadn't come, but one look at this photo would be enough to absolutely shatter her.

A flicker of vicious cruelty danced in Janetta's lowered eyes.

If she could force Helena's hand once, she could certainly do it again.

Almost the instant she captured the photo, Janetta's patience for the morgue evaporated.

Who in their right mind wanted to stare at dead bodies in such a macabre place?

Just looking at it made Janetta's skin crawl.

Without hesitation, she turned to Sebastian and spoke up. "Sebastian, it's freezing in here. I'm going to step outside first. Otherwise, I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it and will end up right back in a hospital bed."

Sebastian didn't object. He gave a curt nod.

Janetta turned on her heel and walked out.

Sebastian's focus remained entirely on the infant's body.

He just stood there in the quiet, staring, an unshakable feeling that something wasn't right creeping into his mind.
