He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 479

The sound of bone-crushing violence echoed into the hallway.

The crowd outside flinched with every thud, completely terrified, no one daring to intervene.

Amidst the vicious brawl, a whisper as fragile as spun glass floated from the stall. "Jules... I feel so sick..."

The moment the words left her mouth, she lost consciousness completely.

Julian snapped out of his bloodlust.

He dropped Sebastian and rushed back into the stall.

Dropping to his knees, he stripped off his suit jacket and carefully wrapped it around her battered, exposed body.

Sebastian slowly wiped the blood from his mouth and stood up.

"Sebastian Hayes," Julian snarled, his voice a demonic rasp that chilled the room. "If she dies, I am taking your life to pay for hers."

Without another word, Julian scooped her up and sprinted out of the restroom.

The stunned crowd parted like the Red Sea.

Sebastian stood in the wreckage, his face unreadable.

After a long silence, he straightened his tie and walked out.

The reporters didn't dare snap a single photo.

Janetta emerged from the women's room just as he stepped out.

She cautiously approached him. "Seb, did something happen?"

He ignored her completely, walking right past her and out the door.

Janetta bit her lip and jogged awkwardly in her heels to keep up.

The corridor fell into a deathly, suffocated silence.

...

Julian sped straight to the emergency room.

Helena was completely unresponsive upon arrival.

The only sign of life was the faint, thready rise and fall of her chest.

The attending doctors took one look at her horrifying pallor and immediately rushed her into a trauma room.

He sat with bloodshot eyes, drowning in guilt.

If he hadn't let her go to the restroom alone, he could have prevented this nightmare.

He held her cold hand in both of his, refusing to let go.

Two hours later, Helena's eyelashes finally fluttered.

She opened her eyes, staring blankly at the ceiling.

When she turned her head and saw Julian, the first words out of her mouth were, "I'm sorry. I caused you so much trouble."

"You idiot, why the hell are you apologizing to me?" Julian choked out, his heart breaking.

Helena offered a faint, hollow smile that didn't reach her eyes.

She knew her assault had sparked a massive, public war between him and Sebastian.

"Don't overthink this. I've handled it. The press won't leak a single word about tonight," Julian promised, reading the guilt on her face.

She didn't reply.

"I'll have the doctor do one last check. If you don't want to stay in this hospital, I'm taking you home," he declared.
