He Never Loved Me Until the Day I Finally Left Him novel Chapter 561

She returned to the room to keep Skye company.

She was exhausted from the terrifying events of the evening.

Yet, Helena found it impossible to sleep.

It took a long time to force herself to calm down and drift into a deep slumber.

But in her nightmares, she was plagued by ghosts of the past.

The phantom weight on her chest made it hard to breathe.

Meanwhile, Sebastian stared quietly at the flickering words on his screen, taking a drag from the cigarette pinched between his fingers.

He didn't deny he was testing the waters.

Testing this version of Helena.

Even her way of speaking was entirely different from before.

She was dominant, direct, and completely stripped of her previous subtlety.

He stubbed out his cigarette and rubbed his aching temples, settling into an even deeper silence.

Suddenly, a message from Carter Miles popped up.

Carter: [Mr. Hayes, Destiny's Choice is an Epoch Pictures production, and their largest shareholder is the Campbell family. However, the true decision-maker behind this branch of Epoch isn't Julian, but Ms. Wallace.]

This Ms. Wallace was Helena.

Sebastian didn't show a flicker of emotion.

Suddenly, the study door swung open.

Janetta slipped inside wearing a seductive nightgown, carrying a cup of coffee.

It was Sebastian's habit.

If he worked late, he always drank coffee.

"Sebastian," Janetta called his name, her voice sweet and breathy.

She sauntered over to him.

Pressing her stunning curves against him, she gently set the mug on the desk.

Sebastian, however, had never cared about her feelings.

His expression remained ruthlessly blank.

He didn't even want to engage in the conversation. "Janetta, I told you, I have to work."

"Why won't you touch me? It's because you never got over her, isn't it!" Her tone grew aggressive.

A flash of impatience crossed his eyes.

He remained entirely expressionless.

Janetta refused to let it go.

Her breathing grew ragged.

"She's dead! The woman out there is the CEO of IGM, Julian's wife! Regardless of what Julian is planning, she is not Helena. If you're falling for her, you're just torturing yourself, aren't you?!" she screamed at him.

Her voice echoed off the walls.

"Are you done?" His attitude was as cold as ever. "I said I need to work. I don't want to repeat myself a fourth time."
