Was this destiny?
Julian could tell that Skye genuinely liked Kyle.
He kept his composure, merely watching the scene unfold without exposing the truth.
He had assumed Sebastian had left the city.
If Kyle was here, it meant his father was still in Seapearl City.
What was his goal?
Was he coming after Helena?
Throughout it all, Julian stayed perfectly silent.
He knew better than anyone what moves to make and which ones to avoid.
Alerting the enemy would only bring trouble to their doorstep.
He watched quietly, the sound of Skye's cheerful chatter ringing in his ears.
It was a lively, idyllic picture.
...
It was past one in the afternoon when Helena finished lunch with the Epoch Pictures executives.
"Ms. Wallace, the auditions are taking place in the conference room downstairs," Leo Dalton said, looking at her.
She nodded.
Feeling somewhat confused, Leo ventured, "We actually started the auditions this morning. Most of the veteran actors were scheduled then. Why did you decide to come in the afternoon?"
"I had some matters to attend to." She didn't offer a real explanation.
Leo didn't pry. He handed her the roster. "We've locked in the main leads and most of the crucial supporting cast. Please review the list. The only unresolved role is the supporting character Cassandra Shaw. We have a few A-listers auditioning for it this afternoon."
She scanned the list and nodded. "Alright."
She had no intention of interfering with the production team's casting choices.
The only exception was the role of Cassandra, which was why Janetta had been strategically scheduled for the afternoon.
"Is Cassandra the only role left for this afternoon?" she asked instead.
"Yes, it's the last major role."
"Do you have any favorites in mind?"
"It's a tricky part. Most A-listers refused it because the character is a universally despised villain. But everyone else is locked in, which puts us in a tough spot," Leo sighed.
"Cast Janetta Ramirez," she instructed calmly.
"Her target is the lead role, Victoria Vance. I doubt she'd accept Cassandra," Leo said bluntly.
"Leave this afternoon to me. She's desperate for a comeback. We absolutely will not give her Victoria, but in the end, she'll take Cassandra," she finished smoothly.
"Understood," Leo nodded, choosing not to question her authority.
The two of them walked out with measured steps.
The auditions were taking place in the hotel's conference center, just downstairs.
Helena didn't enter the room directly. Instead, she watched the auditions via a live feed in the control room.
