Sebastian fell silent for a moment. "That wasn't what I meant. I was asking if you know who did this to you."
"IGM's rapid expansion over the past three years has stepped on a lot of toes. They just couldn't figure out who was actually pulling the strings. Now that my identity is public, and they know I married into the Campbell family, they naturally want to ruin it. After all, in the eyes of many, IGM is a massive cash cow," Helena said without a shred of hesitation.
"As for who specifically did this, I'll track them down sooner or later," she finished.
She paused for a fraction of a second before adding, "So, I won't trouble you with it, Mr. Hayes."
The implication was clear: Sebastian needed to mind his own business.
There was no way Sebastian could miss the underlying warning in her tone.
He remained quiet, swallowing the words that had been on the tip of his tongue.
Carter Miles had already investigated the matter and sent him a message.
The people who had drugged Helena belonged to a rival company in the same tech sector.
Their motive aligned perfectly with what Helena had just deduced.
If Carter could find out, Helena undoubtedly could too, especially since they were in Seapearl City.
It was the same tight-knit circle as Coralia.
"Alright," Sebastian said, offering a faint nod.
Helena said nothing else. She stood up and headed toward the door of the suite.
Sebastian watched her retreating figure in silence.
Just as she reached the door, he called out to her.
"Did you tell Janetta that I pulled strings for you?" he asked out of nowhere.
Helena raised an eyebrow, looking back at him with an unhurried, composed gaze.
There was absolutely no trace of shame or awkwardness that one might expect after they had just slept together.
"Didn't you speak to the producers, Mr. Hayes?" she countered.
Sebastian had indeed reached out, using Beau Sterling's connections to make it happen.
After all, the Sterling family's base was in Coralia.
In a circle this small, there were no real secrets.
As far as Helena was concerned, Sebastian had been devoted to Janetta for years.
