He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 145

Just as the plane was about to take off, a few more people boarded.

They were all familiar faces.

Nyssa Tarrant and Kendrick Walden walked in together.

Spotting Ottilie, Nyssa froze in sheer shock.

Then she quickly plastered on a warm smile. "Ms. Sewell, what are you doing here?"

"Traveling," Ottilie replied.

"We're heading out on location. Did Yorath arrange this for you too?"

Nyssa was booked as a guest star on a reality survival show.

She hadn't heard a single word about Ottilie tagging along.

Kendrick's face darkened. "No one mentioned this. If you try to force someone into the cast at the last minute, people are going to say we're acting like divas. It's bad for your reputation."

"It's fine," Nyssa said brightly. "We're from the same agency anyway. I should be looking out for Ms. Sewell."

She purposely said this loudly enough for the flight attendant to hear.

The attendant remained thoroughly professional, keeping to herself as she helped Nyssa stow her luggage.

Totally indifferent to the gossip.

"Thanks for the offer, Ms. Tarrant, but we're not heading to the same place," Ottilie said.

Nyssa sat down in the seat right next to her. "Don't listen to Kendrick's complaining. You know he's all bark and no bite. He's been worried sick about you for the last three years."

Ottilie gave a slight smile. "Has he now?"

One sweep of her gaze made Kendrick guiltily avert his eyes.

"Changed your cologne?" she pressed.

His face shifted slightly. "You sure know me well, Ms. Sewell."

"You used to be my manager. I'm very familiar with your scent."

"That was three years ago," he muttered, quickly turning away to order a coffee from the attendant and grab a blanket for Nyssa.

Nyssa, however, was eager to keep chatting. "I heard you're pregnant? Is it Yorath's?"

The attendant smiled politely at Nyssa. "Ms. Tarrant, we respect the passenger's actual requests."

Ottilie thought about it for a second. She did have quite a bit of traction right now, and moving to economy dressed like this would probably cause a riot and ruin her rest.

"Let me think about it. But if someone keeps bothering me, can I request that they remain quiet?"

"Of course," the attendant nodded gracefully. "Just press the call button if you need anything."

Nyssa finally shut her mouth.

As the plane prepared for takeoff, the crew came through to remind everyone to switch off their phones.

Nyssa's phone rang.

She glanced at the screen and looked up at the attendant. "It's my boss. Just give me a few seconds."

"Yorath, the plane's about to take off. I only have a few seconds."

Whatever he said on the other end remained unheard.

Nyssa looked over at Ottilie, a sweet smile on her face. "Ms. Sewell is sitting right next to me. Would you like to say something to her?"
