He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 222

Sneaking out at this hour, Ottilie ran into Yvonne in the living room.

She was wearing an apron, and the savory scent of scallions drifted from the kitchen.

Breakfast prep was already underway.

Ottilie's first thought was, *does this woman ever sleep?*

Yvonne seemed perfectly calm seeing her. "Ms. Sewell, do you need anything?"

"I was thirsty, looking for water." There was a mini-fridge in her room stocked with water.

There was also a coffee maker; everything was extremely convenient.

Yvonne didn't question her excuse at all and poured her a glass of warm water.

"It's still early. You can sleep for another two hours. The makeup and styling team will be here for an interview later. Mr. Yorath said you should review them and keep the ones you like."

"Let Mr. Fordham decide." She gulped down the water and handed the glass back.

On her way back to her room, she climbed out the hallway window.

Scaling the villa's perimeter wall, she was immediately caught by the neighborhood security.

Several guards in uniform flashed their lights at her, raising stun batons. "Who's there?"

She immediately threw her hands up. "Misunderstanding, I live here. Just exercising by climbing walls late at night."

The head guard, a veteran employee, recognized her instantly.

He signaled for the others to lower their flashlights.

He addressed her politely, "It's Ms. Sewell, one of our residents."

The others quickly bowed. "Hello, Ms. Sewell."

Leaving the Meridian Villa, Ottilie took a cab back to her rural family home.

It was over twenty miles outside the city.

By the time she arrived, the sun was already coming up.

Rural folks wake up early, and the front door was already open.

Marie was sweeping the yard.

Sensing someone enter, she looked up and saw Ottilie.

She froze for a moment before blurting out, "Why are you back?"

"I need our official family records for something."

Marie immediately grew guarded. "What do you need them for? Are you trying to legally emancipate yourself and cut ties?"
