He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 272

"You want to terminate your contract," Yorath pointed out bluntly.

Hearing this, Nyssa knew Yorath wasn't going to show her a shred of mercy.

In the past, he had always accommodated her.

But ever since Ottilie returned, he had made things endlessly difficult for her.

If she didn't leave now, it was only a matter of time before he wiped the floor with her.

"Yes," Nyssa admitted. "But I don't have the money. I'm willing to shoot one last movie for the company, free of charge, as compensation before I leave."

"I don't think that's what the contract says," Yorath replied coolly. "I'll have Soren bring the paperwork to the hospital to negotiate with you."

Nyssa's facade of composure nearly shattered.

Back when she signed with Yorath, she had been head over heels in love with him.

Young and naive, she hadn't thought twice about the astronomical penalty fees hidden in the fine print.

Now that she wanted out, she realized just how suffocating that clause really was.

Yorath wasn't playing nice, and she couldn't afford to burn this bridge.

After all, he held her contract. If he decided to blacklist her, she would have zero leverage against him.

"Alright, then I'll wait to hear from you."

She turned to Ottilie. "Ms. Sewell, congratulations on your marriage."

"Thank you," Ottilie replied flatly. "Would you like me to see you out?"

"No need. Just take good care of Yorath."

Nyssa walked out.

The moment the door clicked shut, the smile fell from her face.

She smelled danger.

If she didn't run now, she'd be trapped forever.

With a cold expression and a mind full of scheming, Nyssa marched down the hallway, barely paying attention to where she was going, until she walked straight into someone.

Nyssa's mind went blank with panic.

In that moment, she finally understood how ruthless men could be.

When it came to business, their logic was terrifying.

The second they sniffed out a profit, they didn't care who you were. They wouldn't spare a single ounce of sentiment.

Only she had been foolish enough to play the nostalgia card!

A wave of despair washed over Nyssa, but on the surface, she maintained her role as the helpless, fragile victim.

"Jevon, if you don't help me, I really am out of options. I'll have no choice but to find a quiet place and end it all."

Overcome with visible emotion, she swayed and intentionally collapsed against Jevon's chest.

He caught her shoulders. "Nyssa, are you alright?"

Leaning heavily against him, she wobbled as if she couldn't support her own weight.

"I'm just a bit dizzy. I can't stand straight. Could you please walk me back to my room?"
