He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 318

"What a bold claim! I've lived a long time, and no one has ever dared speak to me like that. Guards, drag her out of here! Contact the media and expose her. Let all her precious fans see what a filthy piece of trash she really is!"

Mrs. Hadley's shrill voice echoed sharply through the room, grating on the ears.

The bodyguards immediately stepped forward, grabbing Nyssa by the arms and dragging her toward the door.

Superstar, beauty queen—none of that meant a damn thing in the face of absolute power.

With her life on the line, Nyssa abandoned all sense of dignity and started thrashing and screaming.

"Mr. Hadley Sr.! Save me! You promised to help me..."

To Mrs. Hadley's ears, this just sounded like a blatant admission of a sordid affair.

Furious, she screamed, "Gag her! Don't let the neighbors hear this absolute humiliation!"

The guards immediately moved to cover Nyssa's mouth.

Just then, a smooth, mature male voice floated down from the second floor.

"Mom, what are you doing up so late instead of getting your beauty sleep?"

The face Mrs. Hadley had twisted in pure, venomous jealousy instantly melted into the soft smile of a doting mother at the sound of that voice.

"Oh, my sweet boy. Mom's just taking out the trash. I'll be done in a second."

Nyssa froze at the sound of the voice, glancing up to see a very familiar face.

Hayden Hadley stood on the second-floor landing, dressed in all black, one hand casually resting on the banister. He exuded an effortless, elite elegance.

Back when Hayden was sabotaged by Yorath and found in bed with an older man, forcing him to quit the entertainment industry entirely, almost no one kept tabs on the former A-list movie star.

He had bowed out cleanly, without a single PR statement to explain or salvage his reputation.

Everyone assumed he had left in absolute disgrace.

Looking at him now, it clearly wasn't shame that made him leave. He had likely been preparing to leave showbiz to inherit the family empire anyway.
