Yorath cast a brief glance at Tanya before shifting his gaze to Quentin.
"Mom is in her room. Go keep her company."
Quentin smiled brightly, acting exactly as he always did, without a trace of animosity.
"Will do. Have you managed to coax your wife yet? If I had known she hated me that much, I wouldn't have bothered going to apologize and causing you so much trouble."
"She speaks her mind directly," Yorath replied evenly. "She doesn't play games."
Quentin nodded in agreement. "Right, I understand. I really don't mind at all. We're all family."
Yorath gave a curt nod and walked away.
Tanya watched his retreating back until he was completely out of earshot.
Only then did she whisper, "Mr. Quentin, you need to stay as far away from that woman as possible. She's a jinx; anyone who gets close to her ends up doomed. Make sure you don't sit anywhere near her at the dinner tonight."
Quentin waved her off dismissively and hurried upstairs to see his mother.
When Ottilie woke up from her nap, the sky outside had already turned pitch black.
She washed up and stepped out of the bathroom, but Yorath was nowhere to be seen.
She opened the closet, only to find none of her clothes there.
She had been discharged wearing her cotton pajamas, which were now hopelessly wrinkled from sleeping.
She couldn't exactly walk downstairs in someone else's house dressed like that.
With no other choice, she pulled out one of Yorath's shirts and slipped it on.
It was far too big and long, so she casually rolled up the sleeves and hem.
Heading downstairs, she saw Marcella in the living room, busily directing the staff.
It was Ottilie's first time at the family estate, so she wasn't familiar with the layout and didn't know the exact way down.
Instinctively, she wandered toward where the lights were brightest.
Before she knew it, she had stumbled into the Sky Garden.
Just as she was about to turn back, she caught sight of a man and a woman locked in an embrace.
The man was in a sharp suit, his back straight as he stood beneath a wall of blooming roses. He looked a bit like Yorath from behind.
Without making a sound, she pulled out her phone and started recording a video.
She carefully moved around the trees to get a better angle, ready to catch them red-handed.
If she could catch him cheating, he wouldn't have a single excuse left to deny her a divorce.
