He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 328

Lorenzo slammed his hand on the table and stood up, pointing a furious finger at Yorath.

"You have completely lost your mind! You actually brought the police into our own home? Who exactly are you trying to punish? Will you only be satisfied when this entire family is torn apart?"

The rest of the room was so terrified that no one dared to breathe heavily.

They sat trembling in their seats, desperately trying to shrink into the background, terrified of getting caught in the crossfire.

Yorath didn't flinch. "If it wasn't me, it would be someone else. Do you really have no idea what Quentin has been up to? It's better that it's me. If someone else caught him, who knows how they would use it against the Fordham family? When our century-old legacy is destroyed in a single day, will you kill yourself to apologize to our ancestors in the afterlife?"

Lorenzo was so enraged his eyes rolled back, and he clutched his chest as his vision went dark.

"Say that again."

Tanya hurriedly stepped forward to play peacemaker. "Mr. Fordham, please don't anger your father. Just soften up a bit. There shouldn't be bad blood between a father and son. Just talk it out."

Yorath's glacial gaze snapped to Tanya, his stare so sharp it felt like it could slice right through her soul.

She quickly averted her eyes, bowing her head in fear.

"You're stepping out of line, Tanya," he said coldly. "Go see the butler, get your severance, and retire."

The color completely drained from her face, and she stammered in a panic, "You're destroying your own brother over this woman, and now you're throwing out the woman who practically raised you? Are you really going to publicly execute every single member of this household?"

Her dramatic accusation was a blatant attempt to turn the entire room against him.

Ottilie, who had been quietly watching, finally stood up. "That's a ridiculous thing to say, Tanya. He is handling this impartially because he wants Quentin to reform and start over. Quentin is someone's child, but aren't his victims someone's children too? Did you forget that they have families? That they have parents? When they get hurt, they'll fight for true justice, even if it costs them their lives, even if it's like throwing an egg against a rock."

She then turned her gaze to Lorenzo, the imposing patriarch of the terrifying family she once didn't even dare mention.

"Mr. Fordham, I am one of the victims your son destroyed. When I was locked in St. Dymphna's Psychiatric Facility... there were so many times I wanted to die. The only reason I survived the utter humiliation of your son selling my private photos was the burning need to get justice."

"I know I have no status here. I don't have the power to take revenge, and I can't compete with wealthy elites like you. But nobodies have their own ways of getting payback."

Ottilie smiled faintly and pulled out her phone.
