He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 347

Fabian stared at him blankly.

Yvonne brought over a micro-camera and pinned it discreetly to his collar.

"This is a hidden camera," she explained. "Record your conversation, get the crucial details on tape—especially what happened three years ago. That footage is your life insurance."

He wasn't stupid. He knew Yorath had no hard proof that Ottilie had been framed three years ago.

If he brought it up during his confrontation with Kendrick.

And Kendrick admitted to it on tape, they would have their proof.

But that also meant implicating himself, which would land him in a cell too.

The only reason Nyssa had dared to corner him like this was because she knew he was an accomplice and would never expose the truth of that night.

Yorath saw right through his hesitation.

"Do exactly as I say, and I guarantee you won't see the inside of a cell. Moving forward, you'll be my wife's exclusive cameraman. The salary will be more than enough to support your entire family."

It was an offer with massive upside and zero risk for Fabian.

Except, it was entirely based on trust.

If Yorath decided to break his promise, Fabian would have no recourse but prison.

"Not interested?" Jevon sneered. "Guards, throw him out."

Two burly men stepped up, grabbing Fabian by the arms.

He thrashed wildly. "I'll do it! But I need Ms. Sewell's word! Promise me that what Mr. Fordham just offered is guaranteed!"

Jevon kicked him in frustration. "You little worm, always looking for the soft target."

Taking the hit, Fabian scrambled back onto his knees.

He looked completely serious. "Mr. Crawford and Mr. Fordham won't play by the rules with someone like me. I've done terrible things to Ms. Sewell. The second you get what you want, you'll throw me to the wolves. If there's no guarantee, I have no reason to do it. The only person in this room I trust is Ms. Sewell."

Jevon scoffed, too annoyed to argue.

The guy actually had half a brain.

Ottilie suddenly understood what Yorath was doing.

He was handing her an opportunity to buy absolute loyalty.
