"I've already cleared it up with the officers," Yorath replied coolly. "I told them the watch you tried to pawn was a gift from me. I happened to misplace a similar one recently and had my staff report it, but they accidentally gave the police the serial number of your watch. It was just a misunderstanding."

Fabian nodded vigorously through his tears. "Yes, Officer, exactly! That's exactly what happened. I'm innocent. Can I go now?"

"The situation has been cleared up. You're free to go."

As soon as they got into the car, Fabian dropped to his knees before Yorath.

"Thank you for saving me, Mr. Fordham. If it weren't for you, I'd definitely be going to prison this time."
