Chapter 153
Jung-hoo stood up, stomped his feet a couple of times, and rolled his ankles to test them out.
“Man, this is amazing,” Jung-hoo murmured.
Alex leaned against the wall, glancing at his leg. “How do you feel?”
I’m all good now, Boss. This potion is incredible, Jung-hoo said, his voice overflowing with relief.
Relief washed over him, and when he looked at Alex, his eyes were full of genuine gratitude.’
Alex smiled but didn’t respond. Instead, he asked another question.
“Did you pick up any intel while you were in the maze?” Alex asked.
Jung-hoo paused for a moment. “You mean the intel from our command centers?”
“I already know the official intel. Did you find anything else on your own?” Alex asked.
Jung-hoo hesitated for a couple of seconds before finally saying. “I opened a treasure chest.”
Alex raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to go on.
“There was a piece of paper inside. It said ‘Hunter Cheat Sheet,” Jung-hoo explained.
Alex’s expression shifted just enough to show interest. “What cheat sheet?”
$5. vouch
“The note said you could go for a special clearance, just take out a designated target, and you’d clear the maze instantly,” Jung-hoo explained.
He repeated everything written on the note, including the rewards and the bonus of skipping a round.
Alex let out a low whistle when he heard that.
“Who’s the target?” Alex asked.
“Lily from Draconia, Jung-hoo replied.
Alex tapped his fingers against his sleeve, a look of surprise flickering across his face.
“Guess that’s actually a legit way out, Alex said.
He let out a sigh and shook his head. “Too bad I’ve already finished my mission. Otherwise, I’d be tempted to give it a shot.”
Jung-hoo’s face looked a bit complicated at that.
Alex noticed and continued. “My mission’s already done, so I’m not taking that risk. The reward for taking out Lily is huge, but with that spirit guarding her, forget it.”
Jung-hoo’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he stayed silent. He hadn’t finished his mission, he hadn’t killed a single person.
The rewards on that note had definitely tempted him, but with his leg messed up before, even walking was tough. Kill someone? Who could he even kill? More likely, he’d end up dead himself.
But now, his leg was back to normal.
“Boss, have you counted how many people have been eliminated so far?” Jung-hoo asked.

Chapter 153
“Yeah, thirty-two,” Alex replied.
Jung-hoo’s face froze for a split second.
55 voucher
“There were fifty players in total. Thirty-two are out, so that leaves eighteen, Alex said, counting on his fingers.
“Out of those eighteen, ten are Hunters, so that leaves eight regular players,” Alex said, counting on his fingers./
Jung-hoo’s face shifted. Only eight targets remained, and they were the only people he could go after. The pressure closed in on him.
Alex glanced at him. “Your mission needs at least two kills. There are eight targets, and aside from you, nine other Hunters are scrambling for them.”
“Wait, Boss, didn’t you already finish your mission?” Jung-hoo asked.
“Who would ever say no to more?” Alex grinned. “If a player just happens to cross my path, I wouldn’t mind racking úp another kill.”
Jung-hoo opened his mouth, but no words came out.
“So, even after Hunters get their two kills, they’ll still keep going?” Jung-hoo asked.
Alex shot him a look like he was an idiot. “You’re a Hunter too, right? Don’t you know that if you get five kills, you can pick your own reward from the prize pool?”
Jung-hoo’s hand trembled. He knew it all too well, but he hadn’t even gotten a single kill yet.
“With your luck, if you keep wandering around like this, the other Hunters will snatch up all the targets, and you won’t even have a bone to pick at,” Alex said.
Alex’s tone was completely neutral, like he was just making small talk.
Jung-hoo gritted his teeth. “Boss, please, help me out.”
Alex raised an eyebrow.
“I can’t find anyone in the maze. Do you have any item that can help me track someone down?” Jung-hoo asked.
Alex glanced down at his pocket, hesitated for a few seconds, then let out a sigh like he’d made up his mind. “Yeah, I do.”
He pulled out a short incense stick from his right pocket. It was bright red, the tip partially burned and the end blackened.
“What’s this?” Jung-hoo asked.
“Trail Incense,” Alex said, handing it over. “Just picture a Hider player in your mind, and the incense will ignite by itself. The smoke will drift toward their location.”
Jung-hoo’s eyes went wide. “Damn, that’s useful!”
There’s a trick to it,” Alex explained. “If you don’t have anyone specific in mind, the incense will just point you to a random player. But if you do, it’ll take you right to the person you’re picturing.”
Jung-hoo took the incense, turning it over in his hands. “How many times can I use this?”
Three uses. I already burned one, so you’ve got two left.” Alex replied.
Two times… Jung-hoo murmured under his breath.

“If you use it right, two shots are all you need to finish your mission, Alex said, then added, “Oh, and if the smoke stops halfway, it means someone else got to your target first.”
Jung-hoo gripped the incense tightly in his palm. “Thank you, Boss. Really.”
This thank you was even more heartfelt than before. Jung-hoo’s mind was spinning, two chances, as long as he could hunt down two lone, weak players, he’d survive this game.
Alex watched as Jung-hoo put the incense away, then pulled out a card from his other pocket. “Take this.”
Jung-hoo reached out and took it. The card was pitch black, with a few lines of small print on the back.
[Soul Lock Card: Designate a spirit and trap it for 10 minutes. Usage: 1 time.]
Jung-hoo’s fingers tightened around the card. “Boss, what’s this?”
Alex answered bluntly. “It’s for when you need to make a run for it.”
