Jung-hoo pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The first thing he saw was a woman’s spirit form floating in midair, wrapped in a layer of golden light, completely immobilized, her soul power completely locked away.
Only then did his gaze shift to the little girl in the room. The hairpin on her head was blinking red like crazy panic written all over her face as she babbled frantically.
Got it!’ Jung-hoo thought, gripping his combat knife tightly as he strode toward her.
Lil Lily took two steps back, shoving her hand into her pocket. She grabbed the Six-Faced Heart Die and gripped it tighin her hand. “Stay back!”
Jung-hoo didn’t understand her, and he didn’t bother trying to. The Soul Lock Card only lasted ten minutes, and he couldn’t afford to waste a single second.
Lil Lily raised the die, pressing herself against the wall. “Six-Faced Heart Die!”
Jung-hoo raised his combat knife, ready to strike.
As the blade came slashing down toward her, Lil Lily released the die, sending it flying into the air.
The die tumbled through the air, its six faces flashing. The moment it hit the ground, the Laughing Face landed face up, and a burst of light washed over Lil Lily.
At the same time, Jung-hoo’s combat knife came down on her shoulder.
“Clang!”
The blade bounced off her shoulder with a crisp clang, the shock numbing Jung-hoo’s hand.
Up in the air, Jane, still trapped in the golden light, watched the scene unfold. Her tense expression eased just a little.
What the hell? Jung-hoo stared at Lil Lily’s unharmed shoulder, his mind spinning with confusion and shock. ‘Why? Wasn’t that spirit supposed to be locked up? Where did this defense come from? Was it that die she threw?’
Still unconvinced, Jung-hoo swept his combat knife sideways, aiming straight for Lil Lily’s waist.
“Clang!”
The blade rebounded again.
He hacked at her chest again.

“Clang!”
Once more, the blade bounced right off.
Three swings, all useless.
“Why?!” Jung-hoo shouted in Hanmarkian, not even sure if he was yelling at the game or at Lily.
Lil Lily stood there, realizing she didn’t feel a thing. The blade hitting her was like someone poking her with a finger. She let out a long, relieved breath.
“That scared the hell out of me,” she muttered.

Chapter 155
She looked up at Jung-hoo, her expression shifting from panic to anger.
“It’s you.” Lil Lily jabbed a finger at him. “You’re the one who tried to kill me!”
1-
“Blake wanted to kill me, and now you do too! Why does everyone want me dead?” Lil Lily demanded.

Jung-hoo had no idea what she was saying. All he saw was a ten-year-old girl standing in front of him, his blade bouncing off her like she was made of steel, and she was glaring at him, furious.
Still refusing to accept it, he hacked at her twice more, but there wasn’t even a scratch.
Lil Lily snorted. “Don’t waste your energy.”
She patted the spot on her shoulder where he’d struck, her clothes still perfectly intact.
[Six-Faced Heart Die, Laughing Face. Status: HP fully restored, invincibility for three minutes.]
Lil Lily grabbed the crossbow she’d confiscated from Blake off the table.
Jung-hoo saw the crossbow and instinctively took a half-step back.
Lil Lily raised the crossbow, aimed it right at him, her finger already on the trigger.
“Whoosh!”
The crossbow bolt shot out and buried itself in Jung-hoo’s right arm.
“Ah!” Jung-hoo let out a yell, grabbing his arm with his left hand as blood oozed between his fingers.
He roared and charged forward, swinging his combat knife again.
“Clang!”
The blade just bounced right off her, still didn’t do a thing.
Lil Lily took two steps back and slotted another bolt into the crossbow.
“Whoosh!”
The second bolt slammed into his left leg.
Jung-hoo’s knee buckled, and he nearly dropped to the floor. He braced himself with his combat knife, staring at the little girl in front of him..
She fired at him, and her aim was dead-on every time.
He swung his blade at her, but he couldn’t even make a dent, it was like she was made of steel.
His combat knife was supposed to trigger an explosion whenever it touched flesh, even the tiniest scratch would set it off. But it was like she was surrounded by an iron fortress; not even a single hair was harmed.
Jung-hoo was falling apart. He glanced at his bleeding arm and leg, and it hit him, if he kept going, he’d be the one ending up dead.
Run!’ Jung-hoo thought desperately.
Jung-hoo spun around and made a break for the door, limping hard as he went.
“Grab him!” Lil Lily’s voice rang out from behind.

The next second, Jung-hoo was locked in midair by some unseen power, hanging there helplessly, completely paralyzed.
Jung-hoo’s face contorted in shock. “This can’t be happening! Jane’s still locked up in that golden light! The Soul Lock Card was meant for her! So where the hell is this force coming from?!’
Just then. Lil Lily’s invincibility faded. She put the die away and walked right up to Jung-hoo, tilting her head to look at him.
Jung-hoo’s eyes shifted past Lil Lily, and in the corner of the room, he saw a spirit suddenly appear from invisibility.
It wasn’t Jane. It was someone else. Jung-hoo’s mind reeled with hysterical disbelief. There’s actually another one! Damn it. there’s another one!’
“Who told you I only had one spirit with me?” Lil Lily said, her voice full of smug satisfaction.
Jung-hoo couldn’t hear a word the little girl was saying, his mind was fixated on the shocking truth: there was actually another spirit.
Lil Lily stood with her hands on her hips, feeling pretty pleased with herself. After Goddess Lyra got in touch with the authorities, she’d sent two more spirits to shadow her in secret. With Jane, that made three spirits by her side.
The other two spirits held back because she had told them to. She wanted to test the Six-Faced Heart Die and her aim. Lana had arranged shooting lessons for her, but she had never fought for real.
Now, she’d nailed both shots. Lil Lily squeezed the crossbow in her hand, feeling pretty pleased with herself.
‘Heh, I’m awesome!’ she thought.
Jung-hoo was suspended in midair by soul power, blood dripping from his arm and leg onto the floor. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
‘I’m screwed. There’s no way I’m making it out alive today. I’ve been toyed with from start to finish, he thought, despair washing over him.
The Soul Lock Card Alex gave him seemed foolproof, ten minutes to lock down a spirit, ten minutes to take out a little girl.
But who could’ve guessed that the little girl had more than one spirit by her side?
Who could’ve guessed she had an invincibility item?
