Hide and Seek: The Mad Girl Sees All novel Chapter 166

Chapter 166

Everyone nodded in agreement. So far, aside from Alex’s resurrection, neither of these two items had really been used, so they still couldn’t tell much.

Lyra leaned back in her chair, shifting her posture. “One more thing, before I killed Alex, he tried to save his own skin and revealed something.

“He used the Fate Mirror to ask how to end the game.”

Everyone in the meeting room immediately focused on her.

“The Fate Mirror said the game ends when only three nations are left standing,” she added.

Lana frowned. Hamilton from Aurelia had once tried to trade that answer for food and cooperation. She had refused because the Fate Mirror was nerfed, the answer might be incomplete, and his price was too high.

“Wait, something’s off,” Garrett said, standing up.

Garrett continued, “If the Fate Mirror’s answer is legit, and the game ends when only three nations are left, then the solution’s pretty clear.

“Isn’t it obvious what we need to do?

“There are still thirty-nine nations left in the world, and countries can merge if they want to.”

Garrett spoke faster. “If most nations just relocate their entire populations to the territory of three countries, then the rest would basically disappear.

“So once there are only three nations left, the game would be over, wouldn’t it?

“After that, everyone can just return to their own countries and pick up where they left off.”

Lil Lily’s eyes lit up. “Yeah! No more fighting! We just move!”

Charlie nodded along, his fingers hovering over the keyboard as he started calculating population and land capacity in his

head.

Lyra had thought of that too. “Uncle Garrett is right, but if we can figure this out, Aurelia would’ve figured it out too, right?

“Thirty-nine nations merge down to three, the game ends, and everyone gets to go home.

“He just needs to announce it globally, and all thirty-nine nations would start moving on their own.

“But he didn’t.

“He kept it hidden, using it as leverage for information and benefits. So even if everyone knew, it wouldn’t change a thing.

“Or maybe…

Lyra lowered her gaze. “Relocating everyone alone won’t cut it.”

Lana started scribbling again, jotting down a few quick notes on the paper.

Ms. Reed spoke up. “Lyra’s right.”

Her voice was slow and unhurried. “What Alex told you might just be half the answer.”

Lyra turned to look at her.

“The first half is ‘when only three nations are left,” Ms. Reed went on.

“And the second half? Only the folks behind the scenes know that,” Ms. Reed added.

55 vouche

Lana tapped her pen on the paper. “Besides the ‘three nations’ part, there might be some extra conditions in the second half of the answer, like what the last three nations would actually get.”

Lana’s voice picked up speed.

Lana said, “If the game ends and the last three nations get some kind of reward, maybe resources, maybe technology, of something we can’t even imagine,

“Then the reason Aurelia isn’t sharing the answer is even simpler.

“They don’t want to split the reward.”

Lyra reached over and ruffled Lana’s hair. “Why is it so hard to split the reward? I’m pretty sure most countries couldn’t care less about the prize, they just want this game over.”

Seeing everyone stuck, Lana said, “Don’t stress over whether Alex’s answer is real. Even if it is, it may be wrong. The Fate Mirror is nerfed, so the answer may have a trap. Use it as reference.”

“Lyra, Lil Lily already showed we can talk to the game. Maybe you can give it a shot during the next lottery draw, see if you can get some answers,” Lana added.

Lyra’s eyes lit up. “Got it!”

The rest of the meeting was spent reviewing the entire game from both perspectives, analyzing all the information they had so far. By the time it wrapped up, it was already late.

“After grabbing a bite in the cafeteria, Lyra lay in bed, the moon hanging high in the sky.

She couldn’t sleep. She stared at the ceiling as every piece of information in her mind rearranged itself, combining and evolving into new possibilities.”

Lana had finished discussing with Southern Reach. After hanging up, she sat alone, replayed every detail to make sure nothing was missing, then picked up her phone and sent a message in the internal chat.

[Already connected with Southern Reach. Tomorrow at 10 AM, we’ll video call them. Lina will use the Sacrifice Mask during the call.J

Ding-dong.

She grabbed her phone from under the pillow and saw Lana’s message.

Lyra thought, “Tomorrow at 10 AM. Then I’ll wait until after the video call before heading to Sunvale.’

The next morning, Lil Lily bounced into the meeting room, grinning from ear to ear. She thought happily, ‘Nice. The country got me another half-day off.

“Goddess Lyra!” Lil Lily scooted over to Lyra’s side, whispering conspiratorially, “I heard you’re heading to Sunvale again today. I’ve cultivated my three Vital Flame values now, too. Can I come with you?”

“I’m cool with it, but you’ll have to ask your parents and Big Sis Lana if it’s okay,” Lyra replied.

Lil Lily’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she grinned. “My mom said as long as you say yes, she’s totally fine with it.”

“If you’re coming with me, what about school?” Lyra asked.

“Oh, saving the world comes first! School can wait, my classmates can cover for me,” Lil Lily replied with a cheeky grin.

“What are you two whispering about?” Lana asked, amused. They were sitting so close, did they really think she couldn’t hear them?

Lil Lily immediately sat up straight. “Reporting, Big Sis Lana! Lily requests permission to accompany Goddess Lyra to Sunvale.”
